He was under contract, had worked out with Tyrod in the off season, and was healthy. It was done out of spite for Whaley & the old regime. The Offense was the bottom of the league in 2017. Please don't rationalize it. Please. It was not done out of spite. Don’t be dense.

I'd go as far to say that they don't have a Lombardi today without him. He was spectacular in the playoffs. We sound like bitter ex's on this thread. It's not Sammy's fault that they overtraded for him in the draft, or that they moved on from him later. He's still an excellent WR and playmaker.

Malazan Posted April 5, 2020 Posted April 5, 2020 (edited) Watkins is a jag. Yes, he's capable of putting together a game or two that's good, but he doesn't have consistency. He lacks the mental fortitude to be a consistent player. If he's the 3rd receiving option he can occasionally beat the 3rd guy in coverage and have a good matchup. He can be replace by about 50 other guys in the league who'd have the same or better production on KC. There's a reason he took a paycut. Edited April 5, 2020 by jeremy2020 1

The Bills love doing this with Gilmore. Once we are allowed, go find a guy who runs a 4.4 40, have him and the qb come up with a route, then guard that player without laying a finger on him. Next to quarterback, cornerback is the hardest position to play in the nfl. What criteria are you using to determine that? Cornerbacks are definitely the best athletes in the league, but their portion of the playbook is the thinnest for any position, especially for CBs who play man coverage predominantly. The material that other positions need to master, like OLmen, for example, is exponentially more complex.

That’s why it’s absolutely insane watching the knee jerk reaction to cornerback play. This is a league where they want you to throw the ball and put up monster stats. Dak (who I think is a lot better than most people but still) almost three for 5,000 yards this season! Dak Prescott! Yet, fans lose their minds If a cornerback gives up a catch. It’s wild. 1
