ALLEN1QB Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 I hope we open at home against the Patriots. Let's settle this thing week 1. 4 1 1
Cal Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 April is going to be a long month for many reasons. Luckily we have the draft and thanks for the update on the schedule release in May. 2
Doc Brown Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 I'm glad the year of March is over. Can't wait until the decade of April to be over with. The NFL should release the schedule over a 17 day time frame. The sportsbooks can take daily bets of who we're going to play next. I'll take home against the Pats at +1400 for our opener. 3 2
Buffalo_Stampede Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 Aren't we supposed to all be zombies by then? I thought I saw that on the news. 1

machine gun kelly Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 Well it would be a good week 1 matchup, and might get a national tv slot. They usually start and end the season with divisional matchups and we are a better draw with the Pats, than the Jets or Miami. Those two aren’t going to draw a large national footprint. 1

eball Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 Interesting that they are confident enough to put a schedule out there, but I suppose by May 9 we'll have a better idea as to how effective social distancing measures have been...I still have my doubts about there being a season. 1

If they can get training camp going then we will have a season. Everything before that (mini-camp, rookie camp, OTA's) is not happening.

For swine flu they projected 50% of the population would be infected and 500,000 deaths in the US. The real numbers were 18% of the population and 12,500 deaths. Projections are always wrong except for demographic projections. Demographics work because there is so little variance and historical trends are very predictive of future trends. 1

With Brady gone the Pats aura will fade and they won't be the draw they were anymore.

But people should 1. be aware of the potential and 2. be prepared as much as one can be. How many people have gotten sick and or died from Covid-19 because someone else wanted to be obstinate and do whatever they wanted to do thinking "it's never as bad as they say?" It is bad for those people and their families. And Dr. Fauci just said the virus could come back in the fall. If it doesn't that's awesome, but there should be preparation from the government functions. Edited April 1, 2020 by purple haze
