34-78-83 Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 It was right after this game that I recall thinking that we were looking at an all-time great team. Not just a playoff contender. Not just a Super Bowl contender. But one that would leave their mark in history as a team that affected the entire decade in the NFL.
BigBillsFan Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 It's funny I watched Thurman for his whole career here and you just forget how unbelievable he was. 2 2

bigK14094 Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 I saw that game. Pete Metzlars, the Bills tight end, said in the locker room afterward. "It was like both Offenses were going downhill all day"

I will be planning a couple of pre-game gatherings and a tailgate for that game. Hoping to get a good amount of Bills fans to make it to that game.
Doc Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 This is weird. I was talking to my son about Steve Young just yesterday (talking about trading backup QBs who end up doing well) and he mentioned his game against Kelly in the USFL. I mentioned this game. And...here it is! BTW I was in med school at the time and the game wasn't on locally so I went to different bars to see if they had it. No one did so I went to anatomy lab and found out later they won, much to the chagrin of several of my fellow students who were from California. 1
gonzo1105 Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 The game was sloppy early on with turnovers but both teams DBs looked like they were in concrete
ALLEN1QB Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 (edited) Probably one of my favorite Bill's games. = Kelly was so accurate and more mobile than I remember. - Thurman was so freaking good. Can you believe Oklahoma had him & Sanders wow!!!! Edited March 30, 2020 by ALLEN-2-DIGGS-TD!!

Never been so entertained at a sporting event in my life (which is saying something). Thanks for posting, 9 Isles! 1
hondo in seattle Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 I watched this game live. Probably my 2nd favorite game of all time - behind only The Comeback. Fun to reminisce. Thanks for posting. 1
JaCrispy Posted March 30, 2020 Posted March 30, 2020 If there was only 1 game I’d want to remember the Bills for when I die, it would be this one...most entertaining ever! ? 1
RuffMuff Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 Never seen it, they don’t ever replay it. Going to check this out! I listened live to the last 30min intermittently on a bad signal from Armed Forces radio while in Kuwait, was like 4:30 am in the dark!
Ethan in Cleveland Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 I had a thread on this game several months ago. Amazing if you watch it. The offenses were great but there were also a number of turnovers. And the defenses for both teams made some big plays too. The closest the Bills came to punting I believe they faced a long 3rd down and they turned the ball over. If not for that turnover they would have been forced to punt.
Chandler#81 Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 Thanks @The 9 Isles! Fun way to burn a few hours! Great game! 1
njbuff Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 People forget that Jerry Rice got knocked out early in this game.
