gjv001 Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 This year the Bills will be the odds-on favorite to win the AFCE. This will put McDermott in a new expectation tier. I,for one, think he is up for it. But it will be interesting to see how he handles his team and the media in this uncommon territory for a Bills head coach. 1

If the Patriots land a name WB they will once again be favored to win the East.
BillsVet Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 Does everyone now forget the last game he coached? Buffalo was up 16-0 late in the third quarter only to lose 22-19. He's also a career 3-17 against teams either in the playoffs or make the post-season. He's gotta start beating the better teams more frequently. And next season's schedule is sure to be more difficult than 2019's. McD has a lot to improve on. 9 2 3

You are correct but it was damn close. 1

And For once, Booger was right. It was a pointless block. I posted this since we all agree that awful call changed the outcome of the game @BillsVet was referencing. I'm really happy how McD is doing and building things. I remember the 6.5 games that Vegas gave us before the season and how suddenly we underachieved by controlling our own path to the playoffs and losing a game on a really bad call. Part of the reason they lost is because the offense stopped scoring. 2 1

I'll accept this, despite its lack of big picture perspective. What I like best about McDermott, and Beane for that matter, is their self-critical thinking and their drive for continuous improvement. I totally buy into the organization now and believe McDermott will (probably already has) look in the mirror, dig deep and grow. He challenges himself that way and encourages his players to grow that way. That is his way and now the Bills way. He has a lot to improve on and he will. Super Bowl caliber. 5

No doubt Sean has alot of developing to do like Josh. He will have to do better in time management. He'll have to start eliminating his conservative nature. And finally he'll have to turn more attention to building a world class offense. Do these 3 things and it won't matter who they play.
Nextmanup Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 I love how the OP has already put the Bills ahead of the Patriots. We'll see if Las Vegas does the same rolling into Week 1 of the season, if there is a week 1 of the season this year. 1

Last I checked the Pats were still the favorites at +100 with the Bills at +140 despite 89% of the money being on the Bills.

bigK14094 Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 The Pats and Phins are both media darlings, and the odds on their winning are always overstated/
Gugny Posted March 28, 2020 Posted March 28, 2020 Challenging is the LAST thing we want McDermott to do! 1 1 1
