....CERTAINLY makes sense......within the parameters of the medical community, it seems as if scientists have much LESS concern for mental health issues albeit suicides, financial stress, domestic violence increases, potential for child abuse with family confined under one roof like never before, etc...the bread winner's self esteem is taking a hit for some (others are on the 50% ride as identified in a Wall Street Journal article; 50% on unemployment are making MORE staying at home).....another BIG concern for me although my kids are grown is children being taken out of the structured learning environment including social interaction for months and the potential detriment..

Members of reopened church in Germany infected virus after attending services

After Germany reopened places of worship this month, congregants of an Evangelical Baptist church in Frankfurt gathered in prayer on May 10. Less than two weeks — or one incubation period — later, members of the church are now infected with the coronavirus, the German press agency DPA reported.

Two churches in Georgia and Texas that reopened recently amid the novel coronavirus pandemic have since closed their doors again after churchgoers and religious leaders tested positive for the virus, according to multiple media reports.

A representative for the Catoosa Baptist Tabernacle in Ringgold, Ga., told The Christian Post in a statement on Monday that the church decided earlier this month to no longer offer “in-person worship services for the foreseeable future” after confirming some of its families were “dealing with the effects of the COVID-19 virus.”

A Texas church has canceled public masses following the death of a priest who was suspected of having the coronavirus.

Holy Ghost Parish in Houston had resumed masses on May 2, just as Texas started to loosen its stay-at-home restrictions. But the parish canceled services indefinitely as of May 14, a day after one of its priests, Father Donnell Kirchner, passed away, church officials said.

Five other members of the church's religious order also tested positive for COVID-19.

In an update on its website, the church said it was possible that Kirchner had contracted COVID-19 and that "one or more of the community might have been exposed" to the virus. The cause of death is unknown, but Kirchner was diagnosed with pneumonia before passing away at home on May 13, the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston said.

Kirchner shared a residence with seven other members of the Redemptorists religious order, who following his death were all tested for the coronavirus. The church stopped mass while awaiting the test results.

In total, 92 people attended the church events leading to 35 people later being confirmed to have contracted COVID-19. Three of the attendees at these events died. The investigation states those who tested positive ranged from under 18 years of age to over 65 with the majority being between 19 to 64-years-old.
