Duke.

Duke will have a hard time getting in the game. At best a 4th WR, won't be getting many targets to begin with.

I love Deguara. Not sure where others have him but he is an early day 3 pick for me.

Do you agree that he could double as a fullback-tight end? I like the way he plays too.

Dimarco is one of those players that fans hate for some reason, but all indications are that the players and coaches love him. He's been a captain, a special teams contributor, and plays offensive snaps. Restructuring him instead of cutting him shows he is still valued.

I can not understand why fans get so bent out of shape about having him on the roster.

Hmm. I don't know. Could he block in there the odd snap or even run a route from a full back's starting position? Sure. Could he do it to a level where a team who has a scheme need for a FB on the roster can carry him and no specialist? Less certain. Maybe. I think if say the Bills took him then you wouldn't want to depend on him that way as a rookie. Your aim would be get him to that point by year 2.

I agree with the "limited" part. He is definitely that.

or this "Still, he's .... ..  limited role" ?

Did Beane actually do something before 9pm?   Ok whats going on?

Beane lets Jim Overdorf handle the restructures for players without issues.

Jim Overdorf's ability to do the other type of contracts were taken away after Marcell Dareus's contract.

Marcell Dareus got his nickname "Big Stuff" after Jim Overdorf' was sacked in negotiations.

Just fyi, guys in this draft who are technically tight ends but can play play fullback. I know a lot of fullbacks go quite low in the draft, but these guys offer more versatility and can be on the field way more than the traditional fullback.

Dalton Keene VA tech

Jared Pickney Vanderbilt

Thaddeus Moss LSU

Josiah Deguara Cincinnati

I really like Keene. He reminds me a bit of Juszcyk as a jack of all trades kind of player. Keene also put up some impressive combine numbers. He is also used to doing a million different things at Virginia Tech.

The interesting one to me is Moss. If you could convince that kid that he’s basically Juszcyk and going to used all over the field, he could have some ridiculous upside.

Moss is certainly intriguing. Unfortunately it sometimes looks like his cleats are made of lead. Heck of a blocker with reliable hands, and the kid can catch when getting smacked. You might be dead on the money with him moving to fullback/H-back.

I really wish they went after Dan Vitale as a guy who can do more in the passing game. If the Bills want to have a guy who can block but also split out as a receiver when they go empty sets, they should have pursued Vitale.

I don’t have a problem with DiMarco, I just have a problem with the way they use him. If they are going to do more of that stuff they need a Delanie Walker-Kyle Juszcyk type. There are a few of those body types in the draft this year.

Buffalo had Larry Centers and Sam Gash on their roster at different times.  Contributors who did more than telegraph a running play.  Would like Allen to improve his touch on the short RB/FB passes and screens.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a follow up move. Seems the front office likes to move funds around in-house, before bringing in new players.

I would like to see them use DiMarco more as a pass protector especially in the empty set formation.  Keep DiMarco in for blitzes and use him as a pass option in the absence of the blitz.  Works for other teams.

wait....if demarco was back, pass protecting on an empty set.....would it still be empty ?

Restructures to the free agent pool? Because that’s the only restructure that makes sense in today’s NFL.

In this case it’s a euphemism for a pay cut.

These type of pay cuts usually precede a free agent signing.

Not in this case.  It’s only $450k which is minimal to our available cap space.  They Bills just asked him to take a straight cut in pay.  He’s a FB so that makes some sense.  They probably guaranteed the lower salary as part of the deal.

Would you rather get paid or get cut?

Remember back when Ricky Waters (and in the NBA, Latrell Sprewell) were insulted by contract offers because “they had to feed their families”.  Neither played in their leagues again.

Hey! For all we know the Patriots* offered him more, but he’s in it looking for RINGS! We got a discount!

True, but then again I hate that empty set.
