Shut. Them. Down.

They do more harm than good to the nation. Period.

Might be getting close to time for real action.

Yup, how evil, making sure the people can vote. Thanks for showing your true colors.

Adding on chit like this with what is going on - yes, pure evil.  There definitely needs to be controls on the $ for corporations.  There definitely needs to be more $ for unemployment and hospitals.  Those are the issues both parties should be negotiating and you know it.  She is holding America hostage at the moment adding these things on.  Pure idiocy.

Sadly, if she keeps holding off on signing the bill, the class division within this country will magnify greatly.  Small businesses will fall by the wayside and their market share will be scooped up by large business.

I know y'all hate the free press but it literally says Opinion. Editorials are nothing new.

is it really opinion though? do they give an equal amount of press to say, a conservative point of view? you should be able to point me to the dissenting opinion to that article, right?

I'm not sure we have any media without opinion these days.  Literally everything has an opinion or slant.  The fact we don't just receive the FACTS is whats new in this country.

What we need now is bipartisanship.  So, on that note, I will swing by tomorrow to help you swap out urinal pucks at the laundry shop.

Why attach this to a stimulus package in March when the election is in November and its very likely that life will be back to normal.  This is nothing more than a dem power grab.

The stock market is screaming that things will not be back to normal by November...

The Dems are actively doing everything in their power to destroy the economy and don't give a solitary ***** about the 10s of millions of people who will suffer as a result of their actions.

Both sides are guilty of playing politics.

The Dems are pushing through overly socialist policies, and the Republicans aren't backing down from corporate bailouts (they won't give up giving Mnuchin a $500 billion fund to bailout businesses and not having to disclose who was bailed out until 6 months from now).

The deal both sides are angling for is horrible.

I’m going to disagree. You can dispense money to every taxpayer (worker) pretty simply but you can’t have the corporate piece decided by some congressional committee. That side of the economic solution has to be done by the Administration or it’ll take a hundred years.

Playing Devil's advocate it presents a great opportunity for Republicans to bail out their donors.

The fact that payments don't need to be disclosed for 6 months is highly suspicious.

It's like they don't want people to know who got the bail outs until right around the election or something...

Then have the Democrats write in something that cures that concern....otherwise sit back and wait for the virus to kill the hostages!

Agreed.

As I said in my first post, BOTH sides are to blame.

The Dems are asking for too much socially, and the GOP is asking for another corporate bailout package.

In this case their bailout package is a secret, and we'll find out who received the funds right around or probably just after the election which as a proposal is absurd.

Both sides are playing politics. It's a joke.

Again, I think you’re over simplifying the business side. It’s WAY HARDER than just sending people cash. I’m actually glad they won’t know where the money is slated to go. As a business owner myself, it’s simply impossible for anyone to know how each came into this government mandated mess, or how/if they’ll come out. I’d be pissed if they handed every business a check. Some have not suffered, and some have actually had a field day!

If you think they'll be sending small businesses a cheque I dunno what to tell you.

The odds of that happening, and all the money not going to massive corporations seems slim to none.

There's actually provisions for that in the Phase 3 bill that was voted down last night for those SBA Loans to be forgivable (aka grants) in the Division A - Small Business Interruption Loans provisions.  (Thanks to @DerangedRhino for posting that last night.)

That is probably the single greatest portion of the Phase 3 package (if it ever passes).  Those funds are supposed to be available until the end of June and could go miles towards keeping businesses that are currently getting crushed like restaurants and barbershop viable and their employees able to pay their bills.
