Wacka Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 (edited) Tip: 20 year-old Nestle's Quik does not dissolve in milk anymore. Had some I bought in 1992 (copyright date on the container) Took ot from Buffalo to Hartford to California. I was moving again in 2012 and decided to see if it may be good still. Would not dissolve at all. Edited March 21, 2020 by Wacka 2

A few days had passed, but I didn’t know what was to come. When I was eating my plain can of black beans, I was missing my pico! A little sour cream helped, but my next grocery trip will include frozen corn. I should always have that on hand! 1

You know, I have a bit of sour cream and some salsa, and I didn't even think about a dab of those. Next time! 2

Just use half the flavoring package if you must I would say throw the flavoring package in the trash and replace with your own stuff. Bread in surprisingly good availability. Fresh vegetables in good supply. Rice, pasta, and canned soup very little inventory. I grabbed a box of elbows and a box of rice. Probably 500 rolls of their toilet paper so I grabbed three rolls even though the limit was 6. Probably have 18 rolls total now with a few going to the in-laws. Heavy traffic even for a Friday. I did not get over into the freezer area. The plan for the week is involuntary vegetarian chili, mac salad, coleslaw all home made with a few bits of meat both bought today and from the freezer. No ground beef in the house at present. I might go see what the Mennonites have if I venture over to Yates County. Sunday update : Went for a follow up trip to Wegman's Saturday afternoon. Got a pound of 95 percent ground beef. 15-20 packages total in refrigerator case. Wanted chicken but only a couple packages of strips for stir fry. There were a half dozen packages of chuck roast so I bought one. Bought 1 gallon of milk and the limit was changed to one per sale. Toilet paper gone. Sitting at pretty much normal for the moment other than chicken. We'll see what next Friday brings.
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted March 22, 2020 Author Posted March 22, 2020 Hot damn! Kippers! Sopriste bompets, I eat tonight! ?

Stove Top has been terrible for years. Nothing like it was when I was in college and wanted something quick many years ago.

Augie Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 We have more food in the house than we’ve had since the boys were in high school. (That’s been a while!) My routine had been to shop daily for what I was in the mood for. NOW....I try to limit my trips so I load up, but not on stuffing. I like the old way better. 1

Either my wife or I would go grocery shopping almost every day. She loves a fresh baguette. Now she goes once every 7 to 10 days and fills the car. Plenty of time to cook. We have to be careful not to over eat.
