I think he's more of a mercenary at this point with no loyalty to any team.

I do think he would be a beast on the Bills d-line, but not worth the cost.

I'd give him $12 million per year.

Cut murphy and trade star...sign Clowney

Why is Star a villain in every friggin thread?  Is the virus his fault too?

The guy does what he is supposed to do and is good in the room.  Geez.

Clowney would be the only DL on our team getting double teams.

And wouldn't get sack production. But it would free up Hughes to get sacks.

I just don't think it's worth paying $20 million per year for someone to take double teams and not get sack production.

What has Clowney done to deserve 18 million dollars?

people have been down this road plenty of times no need to discuss further, he's a three time All Pro and obviously has a big impact if you watch.

Is this some sort of an existential physics exercise?  ?

Brian Gaine knows him

I guess I am in the minority......he is a very good player who wants to be paid as a great player.  If you get him on a deal less than his perceived value, he will have a negative impact.

Let's give him the Jordan Phillips treatment.  Come here, be the best version of yourself, then go get paid elsewhere after the season.

A one year rental sounds good to me. Go for it!

They just raised the cap to like 12 billion, teams have the money. Its a medical thing for clowney

It seems that I am in minority but I want Clowney in Bills uni come tomorrow. Then add some veteran RB in FA, one bigger WR and one other contributor from the draft and we are ready to roll.

Exactly.  And in that case, hopefully it shouldn't cost too much, knowing that there aren't teams willing to pay him

Here is what I said on Monday:

Clearly he overestimated his own worth. That said, people are crazy to say he will go somewhere on a 1 year rental. He will likely sign  a  5-year 80-85 mill deal with 40-45 mill guaranteed. I can bet he will have offers at that price. The Jets will easily throw that money at him.

I'd try and give him a base of around 10-12MIL with incentives to get upward of 15-18MIL depending on production.  This way if he doesn't produce you still get a good DE that disrupts things, but your not paying a premium if he doesn't ultimately get what you want... Sacks.
