How would you grade the trade the Bills just made for Stefon Diggs?

  1. 1. Bills traded a 1st-round pick, a 5th-round pick, a 6th-round pick and a 2021 4th-round pick for Vikings WR Stefon Diggs and a 2020 7th-round pick. What grade should the Bills receive for this trade?

Just cant see how its not an A.

22 pick - Rookie WR with assurances to reach the level of play of Diggs or even become a bigger factor for 2 to 3 seasons.

or

22 pick and some left over change (from Beane fleecing some teams for picks on guys he was gonna cut anyway last year) to get a bonafide stud to elevate Josh's growth now, not later.  Yeah it was a 4th next year too, but I am not worried, if there is a guy in the 4th next year Beane wants he will find a way to get him, always does.

Best part about Diggs is he is both an excellent route runner and excellent at getting separation...but also a stud on contested catches and foot control.  He is exactly what we needed.

Great #1 receiver who gets separation in his routes. Just what Josh needs. The only reason I gave it a B+ is we really didn't need to give up the 5th & 6th. A 1st and 4th should've been enough.

B+ based on potential, but will be an easy A if he and Josh develop chemistry together.  Diggs has great hands and Josh needs a receiver like that right now.

This is my thought as well. Time will tell. The part that's a wildcard isn't whether Diggs is an excellent receiver with good hands, but whether Josh can hit him accurately. I am still a strong supporter of Josh, but some of the long bombs last year were off far too much. If he gets that part hammered down and we have both Diggs and Smoke going long, it'll be some fun times for sure!!

We had 9 picks in the draft heading into last night....there is no way we were drafting 9 players this year that were going to make the roster out of camp.

Plus you are going to have a disrupted OTA schedule that will hurt the development of a rookie WR you could take with #22.  Right price at the right time for a proven receiver that consistently get separation.

They paid retail for a player they needed. A for need, C for price, B for player quality overall a B. This is still a savvy move Diggs is just 27 in August, is on a contract that is good and easy to get out of after 2021. So he is good in terms of flexibility and filling a need with a proven player in his prime. The cost however was high. I would have much preferred a 2nd and a 4th for him but overall the cost wasn't tragic.

A. Glad we were able to get a quality vet wr for Josh, because it's all about the qb and his development. The terms of the trade are ok with me too, both sides need to feel like they got something out of it, 1 way trades are not good for long term business. While I don't subscribe to the thoughts that those draft picks were throw aways because you never know what you can get in the lower rounds, I'm fine giving the fruits of Beane's FA labor last year in the deal. I thought there was a FA this year that was tendered with a 7th round pick that might be good for us, I thought maybe throwing in the seventh gave us a shot at him.

For now C-   Naw I'll change it to a B

they traded nearly half of the 9 picks

Round 1: 22nd overall

Round 2: 54th overall

Round 3: 86th overall

Round 4: 128th overall

Round 5: 155th overall (from CLE)

Round 5: 167th overall

Round 6: 188th overall (from CLE)

Round 6: 201st overall

Round 6: 207th overall (from BAL through NE)

B.

In 2016 and 2018 he had 10.8 and 10.0 yards/reception.  That seems stupid low for a "#1 WR" if you ask me.

I didn't watch any Vikings games so maybe there's a good explanation for that (like did he play mostly slot those two years?).
