With Trufant out in Atlanta today I'd bet McBeane give him the once over. Played against him in NFC South plus he's not counting against the formula. 2 hours ago, Lurker said: They're going to need to find a young edge rusher in round 2 or 3. The DEs on this roster are all 30+ years old and Darryl Johnson is still unproven... Give me Jonathon Garvin out of Miami in round 4 please. He abused McGlichy (San Frans 1st round tackle) two years ago when Miami hosted Notre Dame, plus he has lots of room to grow

BuffaloBillsGospel Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 This was a very underrated signing imo, the guy is 4th all time sack leader in Carolina history, he's very consistent and even solid against the run. Right now it would be a solid rotation with Hughes and Murphy. Great job getting him here, I think they go pass rusher at 22 also. 2

I believe he is, fans on here love Shaq maybe because he's a likable guy? But as far as on the field he is solid against the run and up until this past season he's had absolutely no pass rush ability. Addison has been steady pretty much his whole career even at his advanced age. 1

Would accept that he didn’t play a lot of snaps as a reason (looks like he was playing >70% most weeks). Sorta the anti jerry Hughes so maybe it works particularly if his snap count is much lower than 70% (don’t know how much of that was rushing vs coverage). Overall think I’m gonna like the singing once the numbers come out.

He has a reputation as a guy who takes care of himself well and he is a 3 down guy. Similar to Zo -- he worked his craft on special teams and then got a chance to play. https://www.panthers.com/news/mario-addison-s-rocky-road-to-relevance Fantastic story. Love the guy already. #Process epitomized.

He gets after the QB but in terms of the type of pass rusher that I'm talking about he's not that guy. We need that elite edge athlete. Too bad you didn’t stop at the bolded parts. It could have been your best post to date. Alas... 3

GunnerBill Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Mario Addison has been a very good football player. But at the moment the defensive ends on this roster are and oft injured 29 year old then two guys age 31 and 32 and a 22 year old 2nd year player taken in the 7th round who they used in rotation early last season and then took off the field by mid season because it was clear he wasn't ready. They cannot be finished at this position. They either need to find another productive younger body in FA or #54 has to be a defensive end. 2

And, I think they look hard in the draft. Nonetheless, I like the Addison signing and do believe he is a step up from Shaq.
Giuseppe Tognarelli Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 I really, really hope this isn't seen as a pass rush solution or a starter. This is a 7-9 type roster starter, not SB. We need a game-changing DE.
BillsFan17 Posted March 17, 2020 Posted March 17, 2020 Idc if the guy is 52, hes been productive and can absolutely help plug a hole, if nothing for nothing other than good rotational depth. Could be a great mentor to some of the younger DEs we have. Also, still expect them to add.
