Same. Between him and Phillips I wanted to keep Shaq more. Really stinks he is going to a division rival.

Personally, I’m glad. Never cared for him. Virtually a Bust as a 1st rounder. Developed into a part time player who’s too full of himself.

Penciling in 2 wins as I type.

Yep.  I would have liked to have kept him.  I don't think $10M AAV is that far off for Shaq, though can't wait to see what Miami is giving him.

EDIT:  Just saw above which was posted as I posted this.  $10M/yr is about right.

Don't be sad Charlie Brown.  We will get someone to replace him...someone who can get after the QB better.

Keep me posted when that happens...

Honestly, a pretty decent deal that I wish we had kept him at. A little higher than he is probably worth, but in FA, I'm surprised he didn't get even more.

It’s just about where I had him. He’s not a real EDGE guy

He’s more of a run tackler but I wish him well except for 2x a year

and I don't mean sacks?!

Beane is showing he puts a number down for a guy and won’t go over it. In particular when the guy has been in the building for 4 years. Beane and McDermott know what they are doing. I trust their evaluation of anyone on the defense.

He had 6.5 sacks while playing half the reps

46.6% of defensive snaps.  Hughes played 63.6% and Murphy played 65.1%.  Couple ways to look at that.  Shaq played about 72% of the snaps the other two played.  If you take a straight line increase if he played a similar amount of snaps he’d have had 9 sacks.  Of course you can also argue that his sack rate would tail off with the increase in workload.  Shaq is a good DE, but I don’t believe he’s ever going to be a double digit sack DE.
