He apparently didn’t fit the new offense In Chicago . But their running game missed him when he left.

Funny, they replaced him with Montgomery who so far, didnt show himself to be better than Howard.

We talk about improving our offense and wanting to become explosive.....then we shouldn’t be talking about Jordan Howard imo.  We have guys that can do what howard does.  Our lead back can do what he does

Most teams need 3-4 backs to get through the season. To just expect singletary and whoever the explosive player everyone is adding to this offense to both survive the season healthy is quite slim

Beane and McD did last season.  They had Singletary and Gore with Yeldon inactive all year.  If they operate their roster in a similar fashion, it would be Singletary and Howard with Yeldon inactive.  Or they could cut Yeldon and add that explosive back we all cover....but who sits each week as they like to dress 2 backs.

If we sign howard for a 2mill a year contract or less, I’m all for it.  So if we cut him, it won’t hurt. I just don’t want to pay this JAG anything more than the minimum

Jordan Howard would be a solid addition to team. It's not a ground breaking high priority need but a road grater short yardage back is good to have and Howard would both come cheap and be effective.

I don’t see him as the answer or anything. But if it’s Howard handling the carries Gore had last season we will see a much different result I think. I still would prefer a 3-4 guy committee. I didn’t like the 1-2 punch every week last season

Agreed.  He’s a nice upgrade over gore, but our offense needs more juice.

MCD doesn’t mess around with his roster spots.  I think we roll with 2 RBs and the 3rd being inactive. There are several that I like in the draft.  I’d rather not pay howard jack and roll with a rookie.   We also have wade....:who could be better than Howard.  We have no idea what wade even is at this point.

Potential WR draftees like Antonio Gibson or Lynn Bowden Jr could get some carries to mix up the pace.

Call me very "meh" on Jordan Howard. The 49ers are the model. Speed at running back kills. Singletary has moves but lacks speed and Howard is another straight line plodder.

Pass.

Not thrilled with this.

The people here in Philthadelphia aren't all that keen on him.

Did you see him take our defense's heart just last season?  He is EXACTLY what this team needs and what McDermott was hoping to get with Gore.

I saw him bang into the line for no gain plenty of times. Then they gave the ball to Miles Sanders a running back who can actually, you know, run... and he took it to the house. We don't have that breakaway speed in Singletary so our change of pace guy needs to have it.

For a dick Jauron offense

A veteran RB who is physical, can receive out of the backfield and is great in pass protection.

This "vaunted" Bills defense wanted nothing to do with him this past season, when it mattered in the 2nd half.

You must have turned the game off after that run then.  There are more important things than speed when it comes to running backs.  Howard is plenty fast enough.  He can also block and is a good receiver as well.  Both are far more important traits.

You said it.  You’re trying to sell him being good and that’s how you sold him.  Yeah he’s awesome.  The bears let him go after he had success there.  They didn’t want him.  The eagles get him, they let him go.

he “can receive”. Lol.  He can.  So can Dion Dawkins.  Doesn’t mean he’s any good at it.

He did own us last year.  He had one of the best games of his career....and he had 23-96. Lots of credit due to their OL and scheme that day.

like I said before, he doesn’t suck.  I just want more from my complimentary rb to devin Singletary.  You should too

He is not plenty fast enough, in fact he is kind of slow. I would not classify him a very good receiver either. He is pretty average across the board imo.

And he’s not a “good receiver”.  He physically has hands and can catch the ball.  2 different things

Howard was #2 on my wants list behind Conklin because he fits.  Singletary is going to be the bell cow.  Howard will be our thumper/short yardage/cleanup guy and a veteran presence.

I wouldn't feel comfortable going into the season with Josh having to rely on a 2nd year guy who's not great in pass protection and a rookie RB just learning the ropes.

Mark my words, Buffalo will love him!

It blows my mind why this regime values older, expensive veteran rbs. It’s a passing league where rbs are a dime a dozen but let’s just keeping paying $3 million plus to a guy.   Makes no sense.
