PromoTheRobot Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 (edited) No fans at SEA game. https://thespun.com/xfl/xfl-announces-game-will-be-played-without-fans Edited March 13, 2020 by PromoTheRobot
Rochesterfan Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 They are stupid to play, but dead if they don’t. No Win here. I wish the players would stand up for themselves- especially heading into Seattle, DC, and NY. The players already have little recourse (can’t sue and can’t unionize) - now would be the time to stand up and say no. You have 3 games in major impacted markets. Not a good look when everything else is being postponed. Making it look like they do not care at all about their players. 1
Rochesterfan Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Now they will look even worse with the NCAA canceling the entire tournament. It will be interesting to see what kind of pressure they get at this point.
Bubba Gump Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 If they do play, their TV ratings will be huge. Win/lose I guess. 1

May Day 10 Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 If they hold these games, McMahon can get dysentery.
/dev/null Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Seattle will host Los Angeles in front of an empty stadium
F.W. Cyclone Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 (edited) I just saw on Profootball talk that the XFL is suspending season Edited March 12, 2020 by Blackkat19
Chicharito Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Good thing the guardians play in New Jersey because in NY you can’t hold an event with over 500 people in attendance.
Rochesterfan Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Looks like they made the right choice and it probably saves them a bit of money by only paying base salary - saves them win bonus money. Good for them - I was not sure they would make the right choice. 1
May Day 10 Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 Good on mcmahon and the xfl To show appreciation, I will give them a chance next year. The decision couldnt have been easy 2
Rc2catch Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 That’s tough. The right decision but tough. Possible death blow for the league. Lot of lost revenue for the first season now and probably crippling to recover from. Fun few weeks though

Congrat to the 5-0 Houston Roughnecks, the undisputed 2020 XFL champs. 1
Mr. WEO Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 They pretty much played without fans last week. RIP, XFL...
