Big Turk Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 (edited) PFF had Hughes as having the highest pressure rate of any edge rusher at 19.4% of all pass rushing snaps. But everyone here said he sucks I thought? https://www.buffalobills.com/news/bills-today-pff-jerry-hughes-one-of-best-pass-rushers-in-nfl Edited March 12, 2020 by matter2003 3 1
YoloinOhio Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 He wasn’t #1 last year but he was pretty high then as well, as I recall 1
Andrew Son Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Hughes just always seems out of control when he gets to the QB. Can't break down and actually make the play.

Captain Murica Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Now only if he could finish the play and make the sack. I always thought with Hughes’s speed off the edge he’d get more strip sacks in a year.
JerseyBills Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 (edited) Hughes gets consistent pressure , just doesn't have the sack #s. Ended the season probably playing his best game against Hou and Tunsil , had 3 sacks and multiple pressures , which is a great sign moving forward. Get him the best possible DE on the other end , cut Murphy , he's due about 9 mil and we only get 1.8 mil in dead cap hit for cutting him. Edited March 12, 2020 by JerseyBills
DrDawkinstein Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 Dude gets blatantly held on pretty much every play and never gets a call. It's unfortunate how badly his sour relationship with the refs has affected his career. Wonder where that all stemmed from... 4 1 1

I kept seeing notifications on my youtube account that the Bills had shared "Josh Allen Preseason game 1 highlight videos". It was weird.
Malazan Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 In every PFF thread, I will make the call to ban the site from the forum. 1 1 2

I always thought with Hughes’s speed off the edge he’d get more strip sacks in a year. Some dude named Jordan Philips had 9.5 sacks last year.. Murphy and Lawson combined for another 11.5. Lotulelei even had 2 and he isn't a pass rusher at all. Sometimes pressure leads to sacks for other players.
MJS Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 I don't think anyone thinks he sucks. He's just not elite because the elites finish the job and get sacks. Hughes is a good starter.
Mark80 Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 So when PFF has a guy ranked high, it matters. But when a guy is ranked crappy then the site and their rankings is trash. Got it.
Buffalo716 Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 PFF articles should just be banned because they suck Simple as that , they have no consistency and have too many hot takes 3

But I feel this has been going on since well before that. When did he get the Unsportsmanlike called on him for patting our own player on his head? I feel like that was before 2018.
