ummmm if you convert the 4th-and-15 one has to assume the ball gets past the 40.

So... you get penalized however many yards extra you make?

What if they actually score a TD?

Umm, no, silly.  If you convert the 4th down you continue the drive at 1st and 10 from there.  If you score, you score.

For overtime, the team who is receiving it should be determined at the start of the game. That would change how teams play the 4th quarter, and decide if they want to play for overtime, or play to win in regulation. I say whoever receives the opening 1st half kickoff, gets the ball in OT to start.

The original sudden death coin toss wasn’t even an advantage for winning

everyone remembered the losses and forgot the wins

We've tended to allow a higher than normal amount of onsides kicks to be recovered against us.  I like the existing rules.

The pace and ways of football make for situations where replay is not going to be helpful, we’ve been watching this for a long time now

this isn’t just a matter of taking ones sweet time to see if a hoops player had his foot on the 3 point line, usually while the game resumes

Patriots suggested rule changes:

1) Allow videotaping at all times and in all places.

2) Stop checking PSI of footballs.

3) Remove rules for illegal pick plays.

4) Double compensatory pick formula.

I would expect as much... it's just not self explanatory in this line

If the team converts, they would get the ball on the 40-yard line.

OT both teams should get possession of the ball   ----  regardless of the other team getting a TD on their first drive

So why DOESN’T the NFL do that for OT?

because the original coin toss wasn’t a noticeable advantage over all the games played?

That's it?!?!?!  The Chargers, Ravens, Fish & Eagles have the only recommendations?  How about clarify the rules around fielding kick-offs.  The more I thought about it, the more I think the Bills were screwed out of a TD against Houston in the playoff game.

And issue is unlikely to occur again since the zebras made up a rule like Tuck rule so no sense addressinf.

Make DPI 15 yards only instead of a spot foul.

Get rid of all automatic first down penalties.

If its 3rd and 10 and you get a defensive hold it becomes 3rd and 5 and a retry of down not an auto first down.

this ***** seems pretty easy IMO

Ah... No!

My only rule change I would like to see is one the CFL has. There is no fair catches, the receiving player is given 5 yards to make the catch before the opposing play can hit him.

But only for teams whose helmet logo can be confused for a flying Elvis and whose owner has never passed a sobriety test.

the CFL also allows for the scored-on team to kick off, hoping for a fumble and recovery

and with no fair catch allowed, as you described, forcing a return on the kick

i don’t recall seeing a team do this, but it’s in the rules
