Also I think he’s a DE in this scheme, no? I know he was tagged : ( he's an edge who can cover. : ) But really he can do many things well. Lorenzo +1 Just mentioning he was on my wish list 1

Buffalo_Stampede Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 (edited) I'm guessing we hear something by Monday. A lot of things to consider. How many snaps will he get here? He's likely to sign a 1 year deal in a place he can maximize his snaps. I think it's between us and the Packers. Got to remember Pettine coached him. Edited March 15, 2020 by Buffalo_Stampede 1

But that might be system and scheme. Trust Coach to figure that part out. Do not overpay of course, just add enough realistic incentives. we should list them here quickly ? you are welcome to start. Mine was Judon or Van Noy I like both the ones you proposed. Here are some other LB FA's: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/all/linebacker/ this is also a great site to visit to keep up to date on signings, etc. You can also rank them by sacks, or whatever metric you prefer! 10 hours ago, MJS said: Did I miss something? I'd imagine most airplanes are vacant. If you stay 6 feet away from a contaminated person, you won't get it. It spreads by droplets, not air. so airplane filter systems will capture it. 1

More playing time is a big incentive 2

JoeF Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 (edited) Ian Rappaport also just tweeted 2 he went to the Packers for $16M over 2 years.... Edited March 16, 2020 by JoeF
DJB Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Just as I suspected . Dang he would have made a great addition
Buffalo_Stampede Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Not surprising. Kirksey just wouldn't get the snaps. Decent contract. I bet Buffalo put a competitive offer out for 1 year. 1
BillsDiehard Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 We're not going to spend $$$...lots of Billsey moves today I'm afraid! 1
whatdrought Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 I wanted him, but understand him going somewhere where the money and playing time was a better fit for him. We just don’t need a 3rd linebacker that’s going to play more than 50% of snaps.
atlbillsfan1975 Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Good deal for him, Packers are trying to win one before Rodgers hangs it up. Glad the Bills passed on that contract.
TOboy Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 I'm fine with this. Would've been a nice add, but not necessary at that price, especially with term. There will be plenty of other options at LB. And plenty of other places to spend our abundance of cap space.

Decent contract. I bet Buffalo put a competitive offer out for 1 year. Agree 100%. Was definitely interested in Kirksey's potential in our defense on a one year prove-it type contract, but his injury history makes that term/dollar amount the Packers just gave him unwise IMO. Happy that Beane didn't sign that type of deal, plenty of other fish in the sea. Get me a few of Reader, Quinn, Higgins/Sharpe, Haeg, and Brieda and I'll be a very happy man.
IgotBILLStopay Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 2 yr 16 mill was too rich for us.. especially with so many LB free agents out there. I would even add 3 mill per year to Kirksey's deal and be happy with Littleton at 11 mill AAV. 1
