So if we decide to let shaq and Phillips walk will we finally get some decent compensatory picks?  I must admit I do not know what the formula is there.

I guess we could get a 3rd and a 4th... but I don´t know exactly how it works.

It all depends also on how many FA we sign to new contracts I think.

It depends on who we add and how much Shaq/Phillips sign for.

K.  Feels like the new regime gets the value of the shorter term contracts as gap fillers similar to patriots so hoping we actually get to take advantage of it at some point.  :)

I believe the Patriots would get the comp picks in that scenario

A friendly reminder:

Two if an AFC East team.

One if any other AFC division team.

1/2 if any NFC team.  Can be saved from year to year.

No, the Bills are not allowed compensatory picks, its a rule...

In simple terms its value of players lost vs. value of players brought in. So if we lose those guys, and dont replace them with equal or better, its entirely possible we could get compensatory picks in return.

Probably not.

The potential CFAs that Buffalo could lose include Shaq, Spain, Jordan, Gore, KJ, and Coleman. The rest of their UFAs likely get league minimum money.

Assuming that they lose all 3 of the big guys plus one other, they’d need to sign 3 or fewer UFAs that quality as CFAs in order to qualify according to the formula. With holes at WR, LG, DE, OLB, DT, CB, and backup LB, that seems very unlikely.
