Marcell Dareus' time with the Jacksonville Jaguars has presumably come to an end.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the Jags intend to decline the defensive tackle's $19.5 million option. Jacksonville had until Feb. 25 to make the decision.

I would totally do it for league minimum.

Rex took a generational 3 tech and made him a plug and that was stupid

He could replace Phillips easily and at the 3 tech would probably be juiced up to play again

Dareus and Oliver.  Sign me up as long as he isn’t a bad influence.

Don’t get me wrong I liked the guy in the beginning before all the problems started coming about. Then after the problems arose I wanted him off the team, same with Lynch, despite his talents he wasn’t worth the headache and the Bills backed him up and gave him several chances and he pissed them all away just like lynch did

And then Lynch got a SB ring and we didn’t even sniff the playoffs.

Well technically he didn’t want to be here and he phoned it in his last year here and even wore a raiders hat on the sideline while in uniform

He wont be back.  Part of the reason he was traded was locker room fit.  I mean we gave him away for peanuts mid season, they clearly felt he was not a process guy or they would have at least held on to him until end of season to see if they could get more in trade for him.

Wow....just like that?

Don't they know he lost 6 grandmothers and his brother fell off a bike....all in the same year??

"Prove" what?  That his career his over?  He just did that in Jax..

That he still wants to play...again.  Not realistic and I don't think it will happen, at least not in Buffalo.

Whether we boards folk would take him is beside the point. McDermott has made plain his feelings about the guy by cutting him when he was still easily one of the better players on the team and at a time when cutting him was financially punitive.

They traded him for a 5th rd pick at a time when his contract was absurd and he was being a turd.

I’d take him cheap to replace Phillips. He can be a rotational 3 technique and be effective.

It’s all about risk/reward. Anyone talking about his contract or off the field issues is missing the point. He’s not coming here as a high-priced star. He’d be a “buy-low” high upside piece. He’d rotate in on the DL.

why do you feel he would he high upside ?

Or was the "high " part sarcasm.         No way McD wants this guy regardless of fit form and function

He was changed from 3 tech attacker to a 0tech plug

The worst statistical position in football

He was my favorite player for a long time. Even when he 'mailed it in" watch him take doubles without giving a foot, and shed and make the stop

He was unlockable 1 on 1

agreed but now he can focus on his Nautical pursuits.

He’s been good in that role before. You are talking about a guy that is going to be cheap. You can’t get his ability for the price that he will be getting. He’s going to go from a bad contract to a good contract.

In theory based on talent and scheme fit ? Sure
But no. he might ruin Oliver, who has already spent too much time with "pay me" J Phillips

Possibly.

 I see your point.

But he already has the all the monies. What becomes his motivator ?

Probably, I’m sure he’s learned jack squat since dealing with Antonio Brown

He just signed Richie to an extension! If that doesn’t work out he has Zay Jones and Nathan Peterman lined up for renovation.

He actually didn’t play bad last year and was one of the bright spots on their offense. They probably had to re sign him as well cause they don’t have anyone to replace him with lol

Yes he played fine but he’s like 52 now and still thinks he works for the FBI

LOL I’m pretty sure next year is going to be his last. He’s taken too many hits to the head. I didn’t know it was that bad, I mean I know the whole wanting to decapitate his dead father and the gym fight and hearing voices, but I didn’t know about him saying he works for the FBI????

? It would be amazing if they trade Carr away and are unable to get Brady and have to settle with Peterman as the starter???
