Bleeding Bills Blue Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Any interest in taking on the last 2 years of DJ's contract in a Brock Osweiler type of play? Not sure what it would take but maybe like DJ and a pickswap in the 2nd or 3rd or something. Would be an overpay, and a highly paid RB in general, but they get to clear all his base salary off the books, and RB2 is taken care of. Contract remaining would be basically 1 year 11 million, or 2 years 20 million (only guaranteed 2 mil for injury in 2021). Lot for a running back... but he's also a better more versatile back than gore. I'd only do it if the trade was also upgrading my draft selection this year.
stuvian Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 draft a newbie with fresh legs at half the cost 13 1

billsbackto81 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 I'm always for second chances and a change of scenery scenarios, but it's a hard pass for me dawg.
BigdaddyinOrlando Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 As frequently as RBs wear out, I’d rather draft a young buck to pair with Motor and then change out yearly if needed. Just the way of the NFL nowadays unfortunately
whatdrought Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 Depends on what they’d give us to take the cap hit for them. I think he’d be a decent compliment to Motor, but I he’s not worth the money unless it includes a 2nd or 3rd. 1
White Linen Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 We're not the type of team that needs to take risks hoping for a bounce back player. 1
DallasBillsFan1 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 No thanks, past his prime. Was a big deal 4 years ago.

No to drafting a RB in the 1st or 2nd round. Plenty of good rbs to be had in round 3-4 to compliment Devin. Use the first 2 picks on WRS.
NewEra Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 I’d love to land Johnson. I think he’s a great compliment to singletary. I just wouldn’t want any part of that salary. If they cut him, I hope we try and sign him 2
1st Ammendment NoMas Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 I hope he gets cut, then we can pick him up on the cheap. Too many injuries and too big a contract to pick up at the present rate. It would have to include some picks and/or other players to take on that bloated contract.
CEN-CAL17 Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 Watch.... a team will give up a 5th or 7th or whatever, and Johnson will have a solid season under the right system. Then fans will say we should have made a deal. I for one think the Bills should still get a veteran backup, someone who can be counted on, take the reigns if needed and still mentor Motor.... 1
frogger Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 5 years ago under the same cap situation, sure. But we are not the destination we once were (in a good way) Taking on a bad salary in order to move up doesn’t make sense right now. Unless that pick is a really high one or the include Chandler Jones ?
Clemfield2622 Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 I don't see why the Cards would cut him. It would cost them 2 million MORE to cut him than keep him 1
Maybe Someday Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 If the scenario plays out that we get Johnson and upgrade our draft picks at the same time sure why not. It would be a short term investment using money that may not be spent elsewhere anyways. This assumes he's healthy.
CommonCents Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 The good news is that Daboll sat Singletary for the 2nd half of the playoff game, he will be fully rested for the start of the season. No need for DJ. 3
Agent 91 Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 David Johnson and a draft pick.... I would have to
