Rigotz Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 He might be #1 on my wish list. Jets signed him to a horrible deal and then asked him to do something he's not great at, man coverage. Now they're likely going to drop him: https://www.rotoworld.com/football/nfl/player-news/headlines/9546661 And the NY media hates him: https://nypost.com/2019/10/22/trumaine-johnson-is-stealing-72-million-from-jets-bart-scott/ Good thing that in Buffalo, he would be asked to primarily play zone. He's a high character guy and got paid because he was ELITE in the right defense. https://elitesportsny.com/2019/09/20/jets-film-room-the-difference-between-trumaine-johnson-nate-hairston/ The best part is his stock value has never been so low. I'd love to see us give him a second chance and lock up our secondary. Use the draft picks and extra cash on linemen, OLB, and WR/TE. Thoughts? 7

He played a ton and was good as a rookie and his role diminished last year as Pettine implemented more man coverage. I think Jackson can be a stud in Buffalo. 1
GG Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 How would a high character guy get benched for awful practice habits? 2 1
LeGOATski Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 I get the strong impression that he took the money from the Jets and mailed it in. I would question his desire to play football. I hope the Bills have learned from the Vontae Davis incident. 6 minutes ago, GG said: How would a high character guy get benched for awful practice habits? Stank_Nasty Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 (edited) I just cant get excited about a DB pickup this offseason. bring back kevin Johnson for outside to inside depth and let Wallace keep developing. Edited February 13, 2020 by Stank_Nasty 2
Just Joshin' Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Based on his latest performance, no thanks. 2 1
TigerJ Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Not sayun' yes or no. Just do the due diligence, Brandon.
wppete Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 He was awful in NYJ. What exactly was his issue in NYJ?
Rc2catch Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Even as bad as he was there I’m not 100% sure he will be bought that low. Either way I expect if they want a legit starting corner across from Tre they will go get one. I don’t think any of these Johnson’s are that guy. Decent players. Capable in stretches.
whatdrought Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 If we're gonna take a flier on a redemption story Corner, I'd prefer Josh Norman. 1

Fined 3+ times for hitting players dirty or mouthing off about officials. Not to mention he went to war with the Panthers in 2016 when they rescinded his franchise tag. Who was the Assistant GM for the Panthers in 2016? Brandon Beane. Who was the Defensive Coordinator for the Panthers in 2016? Sean McDermott. Very well thought out. You should stick to your "yuck" messages. 2

No clue if there’s any validity to him being a cut candidate, but if he is a 6th or 7th rounder would definitely nab him. https://clutchpoints.com/packers-news-green-bay-could-consider-cutting-cb-josh-jackson-this-offseason/ 1

Norman would be cheap, and his best years (when he was the best corner in the league) came while playing for Mcd. The memory is short in this business, and I guarantee Beane wasn't the reason the tag was pulled- whether or not he agreed with the idea. Johnson was overrated before he got paid, and now he's garbage.
Logic Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Give me James Bradberry. Fifth year player, young, knows McDermott's system. Is just entering his prime. Also re-sign Kevin Johnson as long as he's not asking for a ton of money. White Bradberry Johnson Johnson Wallace Neal Giddyup. 2

I expect he'll be a bit pricey for what we're wanting to commit into the back end considering we're gonna have a star CB, and two safety contracts to do soon (plus Taron before too long as a solid nickle back)... However, if he comes in under 7m a year, he'd be near the top of my FA wish list. 1
H2o Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 So he got paid and basically turned into a bum? Pass. 1
NewEra Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 No thanks. Better off with the guys we had last year.
