Penn State?

Absolutely no way in hell that happens. NYS will be involved with this project and will never let one penny of tax money out of this state.

You had me up until you suggested we mimic Lucas Oil Field. Buffalo already has WAY TOO MANY old, authentic warehouse and industrial buildings.

Why Micky Mouse it when we could design something that is bold and architecturally modern?

I cringe every time I see Lucas Oil and Ford Field.

Doubt it mirrors Ford or Lucas Oil.  I think we see something similar to the Soccer stadiums in Europe.  Covered seats, but open air and modern architectural elements, but not so much as to be out of place in the city.

There isn't a stadium large enough, and with enough infrastructure, for an NFL game in the state. Carrier Dome isn't enough. But like I said, no need to worry because a reno of New Era ain't happening.

All for it.  I've been to numerous stadiums - my favorites are all the ones downtown.

The neighborhoods around the Seattle stadium... bars, restaurants, condos and people everywhere - going bonkers - the vibe - was so cool - before the game, after the game, and the next day.  Just a cool vibe.

Went to the Titans game this year - walked to and from the stadium - just very cool.  Same with Baltimore last year.

Went to the Pittsburgh game this year - SO MUCH FUN.  Took their elevated light rail one stop from downtown and the stadium was right there.  We tailgated before the game - YES - TAILGATING IN AN URBAN SETTING - hopped into the Casino to warm up before the game - (Casino was filled with Bills fans) - and then went to the game.  Just a fun experience.

It's time to grow up Buffalo.

You tailgaters will adapt. You will go to the games. And you will find a new way to enjoy Bills games...

GO BILLS!

PS: I know some of you point to what Bob Kraft did with Patriot Place.  Guess what?  It's a fake plaza with restaurants and stores that are DEAD MOST OF THE TIME; even weekends. As someone who lives in Boston - its a joke.  You can't replicate the real thing - put the stadium in the city and work it into the urban fabric.

Buffalo is NOTHING like those cities and we don't need to "grow up"

Gentrification is just another word for pushing lower income families out of there neighborhoods and unless pegula pays 100%, the city of Buffalo and it's tax payers cannot take that on

Our cost of living is already sky high. The city has a unique feel for over a hundred years and Buffalo is a special place

We don't need a billion dollar palace and I don't need to be priced out of my city

We need to build the new stadium in a lot in OP. Nothing says it revitalizes the economy. Nothing

Downtown stadium is a non-starter as has already been discussed to death.  There simply is no room for a stadium when you factor in how many Cabela's and Bass Pro shops will be coming as part of Buffalo's downtown revitalization project.

Don't forget on core golf thing... and just the general first ward development.

I get it - there's essentially a waterfront there for the taking.  But can they like.. make it cleaner?  I'm usually grossed out whenever im like boating on the river down there.

Funny - the likely place for a downtown stadium is the Perry projects - which are empty.

And no, you don't spend a BILLION DOLLARS, or even a HALF Billion dollars in Orchard Park.  You build closer to the fastest growing region in our area - SOUTHERN ONTARIO.

It's ok bro - you'll adapt. You'll enjoy tailgating in the city - we know that's all your care about.

I won't tailgate downtown

And building it in the Perry project's will STILL up all of our taxes in the city which are still too high and push people out of neighborhoods.. i never said a stadium in OP would cost a billion...

A stadium Downtown would cost a billion which we can't afford

And honestly Buffalonians don't care about Canada we have enough problems to worry about. The last thing the Bills should do IS CARE WHERE CANADIAN'S want it

I'm a Buffalonian and American

Where ever it goes it goes at the end of the day... But to think it will make buffalo a booming place is a lie

You're so dramatic.

And you may not care about Canada but you know damn well the Pegula's do - Canada is one of the ONLY reasons why this team can survive in Buffalo.

That's what the league WANTS you to think

One thing is almost certain in life (approaching the certainty level of death and taxes). People hate and fear change. It’s almost always true. That usually includes me, in most respects. But change is a certainty in life, so the better you get at dealing with it, the better off you will be.

The stadium situation affects me far less than most people here. I’m fine as long as they are in WNY. I try extremely hard to not get too upset about things over which I have no control. I’ll just see how it goes, see how I like it and go from there. If need be, in a deal like this, you can vote with your feet.....BUT I’d give any decision a chance before making that choice.

Buffalo and Buffalo business owners absolutely care about Canada. You’re underestimating the importance of Southern Ontario on Buffalo.

Sure some care but Not as much as they care about buffalo..and I have friends who own businesses downtown and they market to Lovejoy and sloan and north buffalo and Elmwood and Ktown..and Allentown, not southern Ontario

And people think there will be this crazy bar hopping scene downtown to replace tailgating and that's not going to happen

People aren't going to be spending 10 dollars a drink barhopping downtown before the game, and there really aren't even enough bars to fit 40k downtown let alone 70k

It will be a mob of people walking the streets

Part of the "Buffalo Bills Experience" is the tail gating it is nationally known by all NFL fans but especially to those fans of other teams that come to OP to see their respective teams play the Bills weather its those teams we play once a year at NEF or the teams that only come every so often to play in WNY .

I hope that if the Pegs decide to move the Bills field down town they take into consideration the tail gating aspect that is part of the Bills Experience .

I live in Nashville now & the stadium is down town the main drag is broadway which is honky tonk central, then there is the Country Music HOF, Bridgestone arena, Tootsies, & that is part of the Titans Experience .

If you put the Titans up north in Hendersonville all of that goes away, the "Titans Experience" is tied to all that down town brings ! I have not been to Buffalo but a couple of times in the past 10 yrs so i don't know what is down town but there needs to be something that you can tie to the Bills Experience besides the Anchor bar & chicken wings .

I know there's not a ton to do in OP but they have tail gating & how it's a huge party around the stadium come a couple of days before a big game, I hope where ever they decide to put the Bills down town or keep them in OP tailgating stays as big a part of the Bills Experience as it has been since they moved to this stadium !!

So then that makes it even more imperative to the Bills keeping that in mind because it is part of the fabric that makes the Bills who they are in Buffalo !!

Did not know that about War Memorial, thanks !!!

“Bills fans” did in fact come way before the Ralph.

If it comes to it, “Bills fans” will still be the difference after the Ralph. We will still be Bills fans, and I like to think the people make more of a difference than the building or the parking lot. It would be very different, I understand. But we will find a way!

Appreciate your perspective but I’d like Buffalo to be known for winning Super Bowls; not tailgating.

That's why I want it to stay in OP.  Sure the Rockpile was closer to downtown than the Ralph

And I remember my father bringing KEGGERS INTO the stadium

It was almost like Green Bay in a residential area, but close to the city. They don’t let you bring your own pony keg into the games anymore, I’m afraid. We have a history of finding a way to make it special!

Can't argue that point, but can you imagine the party in the hammer lot if they did win a Super Bowl there wouldn't be a folding table left in Buffalo ? !!

I have video of the last time i went to a Bills home game against the Pats, Gailey was the coach at the time & the walk to the stadium was AWESOME  it was one huge party, tail gating every where & that was just a regular season game i can't imagine what it was like in the 90's during the play off runs ?

But again if they ever win the big one OMG look out OP & One Bills Drive will never be the same !!
