atlbillsfan1975 Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 Almost feel like he did more to warrant the Chris with that half hearted attack.
stuvian Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 Jim Rome is an overhyped blowhard who has become a sad caricature of his former self. It's astonishing to the extent that his career has plummeted after virtually owning the North American sports talk show market. Maybe ESPN can do a 30 for 30 of how he has squandered away his legacy but laughing at his own lame jokes 4 1

He paved the way for blow hard sports reporters. Once he was playing against the same competition he wasn't as dynamic. 3
Orlando Buffalo Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 It is crazy how well I remember this- I do not care about Rome or Everett but somehow that is stuck in my head for eternity.
The Fiend Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 (edited) Here is the segment from the start: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8pAZ75WKh8 What amazes me is a guy half Everett's size was able to life Everett off Rome and break up the fight. See 1:13. Edited February 8, 2020 by The Fiend
QCity Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 I don't think too many people questioned if that was fake. 2 2
DJB Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 Jim has great interviews and that's where it ends. The rest of his show is so douchey and dumb I'm unable to listen to it. 1
Alphadawg7 Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 I loved it when it happened, love it still now. 3

See 1:13. I'm guessing Everett wanted to put a scare on Rome but not really hurt him - nothing that would support felony assault, for example. 1
skibum Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 Rome is such a tool. I remember watching that when it first aired (live? Not sure). That was the last time I ever watched his garbage douche-fest show. The original troll. 1
AlCowlingsTaxiService Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 I put together his intro video with a white Bronco driving from the airport that played up until he drove onto the then Pilot Field for his buffalo tour stop. It. Was a cool gig at the time since he was at his peak and I was a big time clone lol ... remember Mark from buffalo being the top caller from thi area. I think his sthick got old and others surpassed him , but he was a pioneer of that type of sports talk.
Paulus Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 He just punked Rome, he didn't want to hurt him. Why are people here offended Everett didn't punish Rome?

I have no idea why anyone would give an eff about anything he has to say. He belongs in the punchable faces thread. 1
RobbRiddick Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 I remember this at the time. I don't think Jim/Chris was really trying to hurt the guy. He was just putting him in his place and letting him know he could murder him if he wanted to. 1

Then, like you said he’d hit the mike and laugh at his own jokes. Never liked him and too bad Everett didn’t permanently mess up his smug face.
machine gun kelly Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 I’ve never liked Rome. Never thought he was funny or interesting.
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 That was staged you can see it by the looks on their faces and how they moved
