“It is with tremendous sadness that my brothers and I announce that Kirk Douglas left us today at the age of 103,” Michael Douglas said in a statement to PEOPLE. “To the world, he was a legend, an actor from the golden age of movies who lived well into his golden years, a humanitarian whose commitment to justice and the causes he believed in set a standard for all of us to aspire to.”

I think "Tough Guys" was my favorite film of his.

One of my favorites was "The Vikings" but he had many great ones to choose from.

Ned Land has been my all-time favorite movie hero ever since I was a kid.

I would pick up anything that had some sort of semblance to a harpoon... a rake, shovel, or hockey stick, and use it to spear pretend giant squids in his honor.

RIP Kirk.

103...man, what a life.

Funny, I remember loving the movie as a little kid that he was in called "Tough Guys" and he was old as heck then.  Never imagined he would still be alive this far along into my life.
