They are savings. So $20M has been saved without in any way accounting for the dead money. And yet people are saying that the total cap impact is $20M, the same $20M. Before considering the dead money, the saved money is $20M and after considering the dead money, the saved money is the same? How is that possible? Is the dead money not any factor on how much is saved and spent when you cut a guy? It is not a factor if you think about it that way. The $2.5m was on the cap when he was on the team and it is still on the cap after he is cut. So it doesn't need to be subtracted again from the $20m that is no longer on the cap after he is cut.

Correct. This is a case of overcomplicating a simple matter. He costs $22.5M in kept under his current contract and $2.5M if he’s not.

What I see is a guy who will not be persuaded regardless of what media, websites, and folks who know what they're talking about might say on one hand Folks who can't or won't let misinformation stand on the other @thebandit27, @GunnerBill, @Thurman#1, please consider group PM if you wish to continue Apologies to anyone who wishes to talk about Yannick Ngakoue and whether or not he'll reach free agency - Please feel free to start a new thread
