Big Turk Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Doesn't say how long it is for, but I think they are giving him a chance to see what he can do with someone other than Rivers leading the offense. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/28618393/source-anthony-lynn-signs-extension-contract-2020-season
H2o Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Good for Lynn. I have much respect for the guy and all he does as a human being. I believe he deserves more time with the Chargers as well. They faced a ton of injuries this past season and Rivers play is in clear decline. Let him see how he does with a healthy team and a new QB. 8
Saxum Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Any coach for Chargers is going to have issues with new QB and current stadium so no sense moving onto a new coach yet. 1
NoHuddleKelly12 Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 I trust this was vetted with TB12 beforehand? 1 2
RalphWilson'sNewWar Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 That feels like the right move. 27-23 record over 3 three seasons (including playoffs to which he is 1-1.) He had a whopping NINE games in 2019 end up loses that were by 7 or less points. heard it mentioned that if there is one team that will flip again from “bad” to “good”, put the money on chargers. that sounds right to me.

This. That looks like a complete rebuild. I’d be burning up my phone with trade offers for Joey Bosa if I were Beane. That dude was miserable there when they were a playoff contender. There’s no way he doesn’t hold out this summer without a new deal. 1

BillsFan4 Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Good for him. I’ll always be a fan after seeing this ^ 4

Yep. This is where I am too.
DCOrange Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Happy for him. Will be very curious to see what they do with their team this offseason but they're ripe to be back in the playoff race immediately if they do it right.

Call_Of_Ktulu Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 He may be a nice guy but he had a lot of talent on that team. More than enough for even a solid HC to make a playoff push. I was glad to see the Bills not offer him a contract after his time with the Bills as a RB coach and intern HC.

Mark Vader Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Good for him, and good for the Chargers for not giving up on him after a tough season. 3
Doc Brown Posted February 3, 2020 Posted February 3, 2020 Rewarding mediocrity. "Okay, Tyrod. If we catch the right breaks we're going 8-8 baby."
Needle Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 I like Lynn and I'm glad he is getting more time. Teams are too quick to fire a coach IMO.
