Why is was just yesterday I heard Cuomo tell everyone that people are now fleeing other states to move INTO NY.

I trust Cuomo on this. He knows best. Think how smart he is to be the first to recognize that you can't get Covid if you sit at a bar AND order food.

He's a model of genius.

Democratic Socialists expected to shake up New York state Assembly

by Carl Campanile & Bernadette Hogan

Original Article

The socialists are coming—to the state Assembly. A half dozen insurgent candidates in Brooklyn and Queens—some backed by the Democratic Socialists of America—toppled veterans incumbents in Democratic primary races, including close allies of Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie (D-Bronx). With Heastie’s backing, the Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee poured more than $400,000 combined to prop up 46-year-veteran Joe Lentol, Felix Ortiz and Walter Mosley in Brooklyn and Aravella Simotas, Michael Den Dekker and Michael Miller in Queens. They all lost. Insurgent Zohran Mamdani, who defeated four-term incumbent Aravella Simotas in the 36 AD covering Astoria, said in a tweet: “Socialism won.”

Hmmmm, BladieBlah doesn't like others scoring political points off of the increase in the NYC crime rate.

If only there were a way to keep people from making a big deal of increasing crime rates?  Perhaps not implementing policies that can easily be predicted to cause crime rates to increase?

Nah, too easy.

See, now that's just attempting to insert reason into a long-running stupid approach.  Next someone will bring up the old bromide that only criminals commit crimes. Sheeeesh.....

Cuomo: NYSP, Liquor Authority to investigate, shut down non-compliant businesses

ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) — The New York State Police and the State Liquor Authority will lead a task force to investigate and shut down establishments not complying with state standards, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Thursday.

This news comes after the State Liquor Authority clarified an executive order that went into effect last week. The order requires people to order food if they want to drink alcohol to keep people from gathering in large crowds.

While the new rules don't apply to places like wineries or breweries, bars and restaurants can face fines or be shut down if they violate the order.

A couple more comments like that and ALL of upstate will turn on him.  (We won't be able to get rid of all D run government at the state level, but maybe we could get a different gov.  C'mon Andy, talk trash about beef on weck and Zweigels too.  Double dog dare ya.)

As someone that was born and raised in WNY and lived there 25 years before moving I would love to talk about the disaster state and city governments have been there. However, seeing as I live in the political cesspool that is Chicago/Illinois I am going to have sit this one out.
