Taro T Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Does anybody know what preventative measures are ongoing for the subway system in NYC? Looked for, but didn't find that info. It would seem that the MTA would have to be disinfecting the trains and stations quite religiously to keep that from being a major source for the spread of the virus.

I have been saying that for a while, yet have read nothing to indicate anything is being done to disinfect any mass transit system anywhere in the US. I hope it is simply a matter of the "msm" neglecting to report it, and not that it is not being done. 1 1
B-Man Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 Just not "everybody" though...........right Andy ? But how badly do you really need those supplies, Governor? Evidently not badly enough to accept Remington Arms’ offer to produce PPE and other medical supplies, such as ventilators. Remington Arms is waiting for a call back, governor https://townhall.com/tipsheet/juliorosas/2020/04/02/gov-andrew-cuomo-has-not-accepted-remingtons-offer-ppe-ventilators-n2566211 2
Buffalo_Gal Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 President Trump just said that NYC has a help now component, this is to offer help, and ask for help.Help Now 1

Last I heard is that the trains are clensed every 24 hrs. Won't matter, because trains are still crowded due to curtailed service. The hope is that nobody ventures out if they have an inkling of a symptom. 1
Magox Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 When the time is right there will be a forensic reckoning of the inactions and unpreparedness of NY. It won’t be from the mainstream media but their statements and actions/inactions are documented. It’s damning 3 2
Wacka Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 Polencarz is going something right. Cuomo has said that he will send National Guard troops to WNY to confiscate ventilators if need be. Polencarz said that surprisingly, all of the respirators in Erie County art currently in use. 1
OldTimeAFLGuy Posted April 4, 2020 Posted April 4, 2020 (edited) After deadliest day due to coronavirus, NY to send National Guard to take unused ventilators Joseph Spector, New York State Team Published 11:42 a.m. ET April 3, 2020 | Updated 7:17 p.m. ET April 3, 2020 ALBANY - New York had its most deadly 24 hours due to the coronavirus, prompting Gov. Andrew Cuomo to say Friday he will call in the National Guard to take unused ventilators and supplies and redistribute them to the places of greatest need. New York had a shocking 562 deaths since Thursday morning — an average of 23 deaths an hour — as the total number of deaths in the state due to COVID-19 hit 2,935, Cuomo announced Friday. "You had more death, you had more people coming into hospitals than any other night," he said somberly. In response, Cuomo said he will sign an executive order that will allow the National Guard to go to hospitals and health-care facilities to take unused ventilators and other medical supplies so they can be used in parts of the state in desperate need of more resources. https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/politics/albany/2020/04/03/after-deadliest-night-due-coronavirus-ny-seize-unused-ventilators/2939928001/ Edited April 6, 2020 by OldTimeAFLGuy

Shouldn't he be spending his time trying to get those 30,000 ventilators he and Cuomo were screaming about needing two weeks ago? 1

He mentioned in his briefing today about all of the entities helping NYS with equipment loans. I kept waiting for him to mention the federal government's 4 hospitals, a hospital ship, thousands of ventilators and millions of masks and other PPE's. That never came but then again he didn't mention that private entity that put up a field hospital in Central Park either.
