YoloinOhio Posted January 28, 2020 Author Posted January 28, 2020 Not seen often. I know Belichick has a lot of power but is he GM in title? Pete Carroll? I don’t think he is either.
Rc2catch Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Oh my.. Their fans must be irate. Not sure I’ve seen a more hated coach from a fan base not only keep his job but be promoted. He gets them to the playoffs but ugh he’s very underwhelming to me 1
YoloinOhio Posted January 28, 2020 Author Posted January 28, 2020 (edited) He’s the HC, GM, and OC ?Apparently he can only work with himself. he fired the DC last week Edited January 28, 2020 by YoloinOhio 1 2
GunnerBill Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 I actually think while he paid a high price for the trades his personnel moves in the main worked out. Rebuilding that defense without high picks is a challenge though.
StHustle Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 I think this is him getting his last shot in Houston. He better be a good grocery shopper this offseason.

JoPoy88 Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 BOB’s hustle is strong. Or the owner is a complete waterhead. Probably both 1

The Frankish Reich Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Yeah, joke’s on them, winning a playoff game, drafting a Pro Bowl QB and WR who roasted our shutdown CB and all that. (Actually, I do think this was an ill advised move, but c’mon folks, a lot is forgiven if you regularly make the playoffs and get the right guy at QB)

BillsVet Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Everyone who tries to be Belichick inevitably fails. O'Brien went all in on those trades at the beginning of the season and it had better pay off. Then again, if he can convince the owner all is well, he's got it made. 1
C.Biscuit97 Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 He just got himself fired. I actually think he’s not a bad head coach but he has way too much power. It’s too hard of a job for one person. 14 minutes ago, GunnerBill said: I actually think while he paid a high price for the trades his personnel moves in the main worked out. Pretty soon the Texans will be the NFL's only team with no assistant coaches.

Actually, I stand corrected on Deandre Hopkins - I think he was drafted before O’Brien was there. But not on Deshaun Watson - even if there was a GM in place, today’s move simply cements what was always true: O’Brien calls the shots.
