Oh no no no. If there was anyone other than Trump they would have these numbers magically reduced.  People don’t understand that one of the main reasons we have more cases (other than the likely reason that we test more) is that because of the freedoms we have. People are suspicious of government. They don’t like to be told what to do. A mandatory federal mask order would have done virtually nothing.  Well it would have prompted people to call Trump a dictator for circumventing States Rights. ?

And all of this is so they can win an election in November turn the entire country into one massive federal program controlled from the seat of power in Washington DC. The sad part is that the foolish democratic voters are gullible enough to believe that when the takeover is complete and the power is permanently grabbed, that these federal power brokers are going to give a rats butt about some little guy with his appeal for ‘social justice’  in some far off District somewhere. They’re not!

I don't see a mask in the place

Another example of the Left never condemning flagrant negligence of those on their side.

Hundreds of thousands of maskless protesters is okay to them.

But if Trump not wearing one, who is monitored constantly, is the one being irresponsible.

The virus is not ravaging the country, the democrats and marxists are.

Thing to remember there is that number is based on cases with outcomes....how "outcome" is determined i am not sure

Masks

You might want to take a closer look at your own photo. You can see quite a number of people with their faces uncovered.

You would think it would be impossible, from a statistical probability perspective, for you to be wrong as often as you are.

Right?

The media is unglued about Trumps rally, where attendees temperatures were taken, provided hand sanitizer and masks.

That's where their crowd spreading covid concerns begin and end. Crickets on unprotected protesters rioters and looters, herding together like cattle spreading covid. Same with their destruction, not a peep.

YOU posted a photo to show that protesters wear masks. The problem is that the photo you used showed quite a number of protesters without masks.

My point wasn't about whether or not wearing masks is good.

My point was that you are an idiot.

Honest question, what would Obama, Clinton, Biden or other Dem done differently? Would they have stopped travel from China and other places? Doubtful. Would they have magically produced more tests, vaccines, masks? Remember, after the swine flu, the CDC asked that administration to produce more masks and ventilators and was told, "we're good"

You didn't look at the close ups. Plenty of photos of people in masks. Definitely not everyone. But look at the crowd: Not that many people and outdoors. Definitely didn't help.

Yesterday, Wednesday, saw two states top triple digit Covid deaths (CA and TX). Over half the country was in single digits or zero. Having read through the last couple of pages before posting my daily report it seems many if not most of you are desperately trying to make this political but I’m hard pressed to find the common threads. For example Minnesota and DC, the sites of so much protesting a month ago have seen no rise in deaths. Oklahoma, the site of the Trump rally had a grand total of THREE deaths yesterday. Florida still has lots of new cases but a very low fatality rate. And California which has a huge population and a 100% democratic leadership now leads in fatalities but is not even in the same universe as the NY metro area. And finally....NY which has opened up again is seeing record low fatalities. People! This is a virus. It’s doing what viruses do. It’s moving into areas that haven’t seen infections until now, but for some reason is WAY LESS fatal.

So wait, the virus doesn't play politics?

Keep an eye on NJ. Its death rate has been very high lately. I don't have the time or energy to unpack why.

Initially, not likely. It was an unknown virus. Hard to say if having better plans in place would have been more helpful.

Agreed.

The real question to ask is whether a national strategy (not as is this is often conflated, a national one-size-fits-all approach) would have made a difference. Looking across Europe, it sure seems like it. Ask yourself: Could the places that didn't get hit hard initially have been spared this rise through better communication, a unifying message from leaders on what practices to keep up? It sure seems like it.

This Florida hosp trend in the last week would seem to have been avoidable:

they wouldn't have slowed down testing to improve potential election results ...like Trump did . not only did he do this but he literally got in front of a live audience and admitted it...

but probably not much else. a smart president would have enabled UBI for 3-4 months, not send out 1 measly 1200 check while supplying billions and billions to businesses who probably didn't even need it.

Did NJ do some numbers adjustment yesterday?

NJ has been a little higher for a few days and generally not fallen as fast as NY. PA is like this too...off its high but also still maintaining its deaths count a little more stubbornly. In PA, a lot of the new cases have been in western PA (Pittsburg not Philly)--not sure where the deaths have been happening.

Very likely this is the case.

Plus New Jersey is another state that has been terrible at protecting their seniors.
