Didn’t open the link and just read the quote.

Good luck with that. What are the plans? How do you shut an economy down for months upon months and expect to return to a functioning economy? Who is going to pay the bills for those business owners and employees that have no revenue coming in?

Does the government need to plant a few more of those money trees?

It's preposterous on all levels.  I've seen plenty of data showing that economic activity is much higher in the sunbelt states than in the Northeastern region.  John Authers let's just say has an economic left wing viewpoint.  I've read plenty of his work and he cherry picked data to support his thesis.

The idea of comparing Norway/Sweden and picking one data from the previous week which had to do with week over week data to support his thesis is laughable.

You know how long it would take to "kill the virus" to such low levels to where it wouldn't spread?   States like Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina  and the Northeastern states are all going to have increased cases over the coming months.  New York may not see as bad of an increase because they have already reached a level of herd immunity.

The right approach is to protect the most vulnerable at all costs, practice common sense measures and lets get the show on the road.

Here are some of his political beauties that he has written:

As the country burns, Trump gives up

Economy can't reopen until more testing and contact tracing  That was two months ago - establishing his viewpoint - If we would have followed his advice, we would be in a much deeper hole today than we are today.

The golden rule is dying of COVID   Talk about false dichotomies. These hacks have no memory or shame.  lol

Markets can't ignore an event this Extreme  This was an article that I remembered reading when the price of oil went negative.  Basically he was making the case that everyone should be scared and that this would portend to other negative consequences.    He was wrong.

Reopening the economy is about ethics  Just shows you how committed he was to slowly reopening.  Meaning that he is committed to finding faults with the parts of the economy that have reopened.

Trump vaunted the rally now he owns the collapse

How should the markets respond with a Trump presidency  This was written before Trump stepped into office.  Let's just say that he was wrong on his predictions.  lol

Trump doesn't understand currency wars

Here is the takeaway from this author, his predictions have been wildly off on the stock market and that he is an economic left wing viewpoint.

In other words, his views are trash.

Not a single state in the country has reached herd immunity.

Yesterday. Thursday, saw yet another first since I’ve been reporting. No states were in triple digit Covid deaths and only ONE state, California, reported over 50 deaths. Over thirty states were in single digits with around a dozen reporting ZERO, again. Is there a point when this stops being considered a ‘deadly’ virus and is instead something that just causes people to get sick? Has the virus changed? Have we improved our response and treatment? With the loosening of restrictions some weeks ago now one would not have anticipated these results. Let’s face it, people aren’t THAT good at masking and distancing...they’re just not.

your death numbers are way off according to these numbers in the Wapo

Quote
The U.S. set a record for infections reported in a single day for the second day in a row.

States reported nearly 38,500 new cases. Texas, Alabama, Missouri and Nevada reported daily highs, per my colleagues. The death toll also spiked, to about 2,500,

it then followed with this

as New Jersey added 1,854 probable deaths.

And then there is this....for those that only want to blame red states..

From same article

Quote

Even California, which was the first state to lock down and one of the last ones to reopen, is setting daily records this week for new cases.

Well something is happening. They had only 25 deaths in the entire state yesterday! That’s down from nearly 1,000 just two months ago.

On the contrary, I’ve been very consistently citing the exact same source every day for almost three months now. That’s just good science! I’m not cherry picking hyper partisan nonsense when it happens to suit a narrative I’m trying to push.  Some days my numbers are up and other days down, but they’re always reported consistently.

A vast majority of those that “will die” from the virus have (and it ain’t 2,000,000). It’s pretty simple actually.

I know, i was trying to point out the absurdity of the WAPO. Scream 2500 deaths...then throw in the caveat Jersey added 1900 of those in one day from "probable" covid deaths...but their will be many a folk who say "my lord. the death toll for yesterday is 2500!!!!

That’s an interesting theory. But with the case level wave moving into the southwest would t there be a whole new crop of victims for the virus to target?

Thanks for the clarification. Sarcasm isn’t always the easiest thing to grasp on here.

The whole world has been targeted.  And again a  vast majority of those that were going to die have. How else would you explain the dramatic rise in cases (simple: letting people out to live their lives and  increased testing) and the dramatic decline in deaths (simple: death is running its course and change the determination of “death from Covid”).

It’s a really interesting premise but there’s a bunch of brand new sickly old people in California. Why aren’t they dying at these high rates? Something has changed. It’s hard for me to believe that they’re just behaving better with masks, etc.

You’ll get a bunch of crickets on that question.

It’s simple again. Awareness and not sending them back to their death chambers.

How Many COVID Deaths Are There, Really?

by John Hinderaker

Original Article

Currently the Centers for Disease Control says there have been 121,809 COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. Most people, seeing that figure or reading newspaper headlines about Wuhan virus deaths, assume that means that in 121,809 cases, COVID-19 has been the cause of death. But that isn’t true at all. This Issues & Insights editorial does a good job of bringing together some of the relevant data. But let’s start with something they didn’t mention: this acknowledgement by the Director of the Illinois Department of Public Health: I just want to be clear in terms of the definition of people dying of COVID.

Going by Mayo Clinic's estimate that for Covid 19 70% of the population needs to have been infected to reach it

I wonder who knows more about the TX hospitalization situation: You or Gov. Abbott:

Can I answer that question? I'm not accusing the Governer of lieing,  but everything is politicized these days. What if any agenda is there? Are the facts skewed to favor there position?

I don't trust politicians to tell the truth. I would like to dig deeper on those numbers and see if they are published correctly.

Deaths lag weeks behind new cases. This has been known for months. Hopefully California is different.

What good do the masks do, really?

by Ted Noel M.D.

Original Article

We are seeing jurisdictions everywhere imposing mask bans at a rate that approaches the number of bars being threatened with liquor license revocation for failing to enforce social distancing.

(snip)

Even accepting the uncertain premise that masks are useful, "incorrect use and disposal may actually increase the risk of pathogen transmission, rather than reduce it, especially when masks are used by non-professionals such as the lay public." Given that most "masks" are simply kept handy for use when required, set aside, and then re-used, most mask-wearing by the public is likely to increase virus exposure, not reduce it.

I leave mine in the car, and by my non-medical expert advice, being buttoned up the the car for hours during the summer will kill everything.  COVUD-19-20-21 too.
