Big Blitz Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 (edited) Remember back like 3 years ago....no wait my bad it was 3 months ago...when we needed everyone to get a test? Only with testing capabilities could we return to work we were told. Had this much testing and capacity been in place in NY in March and April they would have confirmed 1 plus million cases. And 999,970 survived. And the Nursing Home scandal probably cost us 10K of those that died. The other 20K avg age over 70-75. These states are going thru there peak when we have the test capacity we wanted. Goal posts. Forever moving. Increases in cases literally means nothing without context at this point. Hospitalizations, ICUs, deaths. Because it is not the bubonic plague with a 4 percent CFR we were told by the WHO one month after they told us human to human spread was not happening. Magox Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 Meanwhile deaths are continuing to plummet. Its as if these increased cases in states that have opened up (red states) that have done much better managing the virus than the (blue states) are bringing out all the ghoulish posters who are eager to see death counts go up. Very macabre-like The posters who are coming out of the woodworks to share their morbid fantasies and you know who you are, it’s evidently transparent that you are acting like hacks. When NY and other states were doing so poorly many of us weren’t sharing this sort of bizarre exuberance. We spoke substantively to the policies that led to their failures but what you guys are engaging in is pathetic. 3
Penfield45 Posted June 20, 2020 Posted June 20, 2020 opens up early urging young people to go out and "increase herd immunity" and doesn't take mask use seriously, and then doubles back to blame the youth lol. clown show

And that a third of cases are asymptotic, so that drops the mortality rate of all cases to 0.26%. And for those age 0 - 49 the SYMPTOMATIC death rate is 0.05%. You must not know this. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/planning-scenarios.html 1

Someone should ask if they have doubled and/or substantially increased HCWs. Hospitals don't generally operate with 100% of their staff waiting for things to do. Edited June 21, 2020 by shoshin

SoCal Deek Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 Yesterday, Saturday, for the first time since I’ve been posting this update only one state, California reported over 50 Covid deaths and for the first time, over 30 states were in single digits with eleven posting zero deaths. Interesting to note is that california surpassed NJ as the second most in total cases since the pandemic broke out in early 2020...however in cases and deaths per capita CA remains way less than 10% of the rates in the northeastern states that were hit hard in the spring.

It's time to shut down essential businesses too. Too unsafe out there to do anything but watch Netflax and die. 1

Tiberius Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 14 minutes ago, BillStime said: ? Trump thinks his supporters are the most gullible people on earth ???????? Trump promised to reverse trade policies that he said allowed the rest of the world to play Americans for suckers. He pointed to the U.S. balance-of-trade deficit as a yardstick measuring the “stupidity” of prior administrations that permitted trading partners such as China, Mexico, Germany and even Canada to walk all over them. Tariffs were the solution, Trump said, as he launched a series of trade wars. “I love tariffs,” he crowed. Result: The Commerce Department announced Wednesday that the overall U.S. trade deficit in goods last year soared to an all-time high of $891 billion. The deficit with China, Trump’s principal target — the amount by which the value of imported goods exceeded the value of exported goods — reached a record $419 billion. Many economists believe this is actually a sign of the U.S. economy’s relative good health. But according to Trump’s understanding, or misunderstanding, it is an abject failure. Trump promised to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, claiming he would put in place a new health insurance system that would deliver better results and lower costs. He made the assault on Obamacare the main thrust of his first year in office. Result: Obamacare remains the law of the land. Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress failed in an attempt to repeal the ACA and did not even make a serious attempt to design a potential replacement. Republicans have managed to chip away at the health-care law — the individual mandate is gone, for example — and Trump often claims the ACA is “imploding.” But still it stands. Trump promised to spend up to $1.5 trillion on refurbishing the nation’s infrastructure, building new airports, bridges, tunnels, roads and other gleaming monuments to American greatness. He said he was uniquely able to oversee such a program because of his successful career as a real estate magnate. Result: “Infrastructure Week” has become a running joke. Every once in a while, the administration announces it is launching the infrastructure campaign — then does nothing meaningful to follow through. Trump promised to “drain the swamp” of corruption in Washington. Result: Perhaps the most corrupt administration in U.S. history, riddled with nepotism and teeming with swamp creatures.
Cinga Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 (edited) Looks like Israel has found a cure... https://www.theyucatantimes.com/2020/05/israel-announces-antibody-that-neutralizes-coronavirus-even-amongst-infected/?fbclid=IwAR2fwXBaW2MgzNRyHOWkQJ22L8YrBosFkFbcUmv7khBkxhwr-RapO-JNVc8 Quote According to the entities, now the antidote passes from the development phase to the acceptance phase of the pharmaceutical companies, which would allow it to be mass-produced and commercialized. The scientific development would be made up of a few proteins that are harmful to the human body and has already been tested on patients with risky cases of coronavirus.
