The way they view this is with 7 day moving averages. If you just imagined a trend line it would show that it’s declining Look where it was one week ago. In the 4’s. Just to put things in perspective the national average is at around 5%. So mid 2’s looks really solid. I look at the full two weeks where the average is 3.6. It's like looking at the market every day. Even a two week chart is almost meaningless. How about a two month chart.

Then go to Percent Positive for Laboratory testing - It will go back the past 6 weeks...But it's only updated until May 10th and not present. Which you know what it is at this time which is lower than May 10th. 6 weeks ago it was at 7%. You can imagine that it was even higher two weeks before then. https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/96dd742462124fa0b38ddedb9b25e429 1

Tiberius Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 Americans following coronavirus news more closely than 2020 campaign, survey finds Far more Americans are following news of the coronavirus outbreak than the 2020 presidential campaign, according to a new Pew Research Survey, which shows a drop in interest in coverage of the candidates amid the pandemic. An overwhelming majority of Americans (87 percent) say they are following news about the coronavirus outbreak fairly closely or very closely, according to the survey, which was completed late last month. By contrast, 52 percent say the same about the 2020 campaign. The percentage paying attention to the campaign has dropped from a survey that ended in early March, shortly after the South Carolina primaries, which was a turning point for former vice president Joe Biden’s campaign. Fifty nine percent said at that point that they were following the campaign fairly closely or very closely. At a similar stage during the 2016 campaign, 69 percent of Americans reported that they were following candidate news at least fairly closely, according to Gallup.

Magox Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 (edited) Wow! The Associated Press actually did some real journalism and went after Cuomo hard for his mishandling of the virus. Quote NEW YORK (AP) — More than 4,300 recovering coronavirus patients were sent to New York’s already vulnerable nursing homes under a controversial state directive that was ultimately scrapped amid criticisms it was accelerating the nation’s deadliest outbreaks, according to a count by The Associated Press. AP compiled its own tally to find out how many COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals to nursing homes under the March 25 directive after New York’s Health Department declined to release its internal survey conducted two weeks ago. It says it is still verifying data that was incomplete. Whatever the full number, nursing home administrators, residents’ advocates and relatives say it has added up to a big and indefensible problem for facilities that even Gov. Andrew Cuomo — the main proponent of the policy — called “the optimum feeding ground for this virus.” “It was the single dumbest decision anyone could make if they wanted to kill people,” Daniel Arbeeny said of the directive, which prompted him to pull his 88-year-old father out of a Brooklyn nursing home where more than 50 people have died. His father later died of COVID-19 at home. “This isn’t rocket science,” Arbeeny said. “We knew the most vulnerable -- the elderly and compromised -- are in nursing homes and rehab centers.” Told of the AP’s tally, the Health Department said late Thursday it “can’t comment on data we haven’t had a chance to review, particularly while we’re still validating our own comprehensive survey of nursing homes admission and re-admission data in the middle of responding to this global pandemic.” Edited May 22, 2020 by Magox 3 4
