Yes, of course he does.

Once again, if you wake up in the morning and see what is happening in the world and your first plan is to point and blame, perhaps you should STFU and let the adults do the work.

Exclusive and repetitive blame is a tool of a weak mind in a selfish body.

I genuinely hope when this is over that most of America will see just how destructive the Democratic party has been during this crisis.

On Mar 11, President Trump bans all travel from 26 European countries

Small correction... he banned non-US citizens and non-green card holders from flying in from those countries. We flew home from one of those countries on the 14th.

Serious question.

It is clear that everyone recognized there was a real problem in China by the end of January. However, here is a timeline. tell us:

1. At which point in January and February (your timeframe) should the administration and other leaders around the world have reasonably known the magnitude of what was coming worlwide?

2. What specific information are you basing your answer on?

Timeline

On December 31, China alerted the WHO to several cases of unusual pneumonia in Wuhan

.

On January 7, the WHO reported that China had identified a new virus, named 2019-nCoV, and that it was identified as belonging to the coronavirus family, which includes SARS and the common cold.

On Jan 11, China announced its first death from the virus released the genetic sequence. However, it was also accompanied with the information that they had only experienced 41 cases and that there was no obvious evidence of human-to-human spread yet.

By Jan 17, China had reported only 2 deaths and only two cases had been identified outside of China

On Jan 20, First US case is reported

On January 23, The WHO reported that the outbreak did not yet constitute a public emergency of international concern and there was "no evidence" of the virus spreading between humans outside of China.

On Jan 20, Trump forms coronavirus task force

On January 30, the WHO declared the virus a global emergency and reported the death toll in China at 170, with 7,711 cases.

On Jan 31, President Trump bans foreign nationals from entering the US if they were in China within the prior two weeks.

By Feb 3, new cases had been confirmed in at least 7 countries, including the US; however, there had been only 1 death reported outside of China. That was in the Phillipines and it was a man from Wuhan.

By Feb 6, only 30 people in Europe had been identified with the virus and all had ties to China. This is also the date of the first identified human to human transmission of the virus in Malasia.

On Feb 12, cases start to spike in South Korea

Through the end of Feb, there had been 88,000 confirmed cases - but only 8000 confirmed cases outside of China. There were 2977 deaths - but only 142 outside of China

Between Mar 1 - Mar 10 approx 35,000 new cases identified outside of China, and 1,319 deaths world-wide outside of China

On Mar 11, the WHO officiallly declares a pandemic

On Mar 11, President Trump bans all travel from 26 European countries for non-US citizens and non-green card holders

By Mar 11, There were 32,000 confirmed cases and 1,400 deaths, world-wide, outside of China and South Korea - with both China and Korea reporting stabilazation of the virus.

On Mar 13, Trump declares a US national emergency with 2,183 confirmed cases and 48 deaths

You’re proposing a fascist solution to a health crisis. You won’t get 50% to agree to tracking. Ever.

Some rights are worth dying for.

You're fooling yourself if you want an economy running in 2 months AND no contact tracing. The first is only possible with the second unless there's a magic pill discovered (and available) by June.

The only way we get back to normal economic functioning is by stamping out outbreaks as they occur in real time when a positive test happens, not reacting to them through treatment.

I understand the privacy concern but Trump has said he's on a war footing and I agree with that. We need to beat this AND get the hell back to work.

This is more than a child-like tantrum.  The leftists are making their play for power.  The people that suckled at the teat of far left professors during the 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's are nearing the ends of their lives and want to see their dreams turn into reality before their dirt naps begin.

I gave a history lesson yesterday on how republics have a long track record of taking extraordinary measures during extraordinary times.  Naturally that fell on deaf ears here, cuz you know the gubment is bad.

I said it the other day and will say it again in that if things go real bad in India a state of hostilities could happen between them and China with Putin waiting to jump in to see how he can damage his perceived toughest rival on the Asian continent.

My question was,  "At which point in January and February (your timeframe) should the administration and other leaders around the world have reasonably known the magnitude of what was coming worlwide?"

You post a video of a doctor simply saying we knew about the coronavirus on Dec 31, 2019. On that date, all we had, through the WHO, was that there were several cases of "unusual pneumonia" in Wuhan. The virus wasn't even named until Jan 7 and on Jan 23, the WHO stated there was no evidence of human to human transmission.

Do you want to try to answer the question in your own words? And please be specific.

You're fooling yourself if you think a fascist solution will fly with most of this country. It won't. It's not a concern, it's a fact. So what you're advocating for is a solution that has no hope of working -- to which I have to ask, what's the point of suggesting something that has zero chance of working in this country? It's like the others yesterday who are upset the world isn't perfect and things can't instantly get made/produced/approved just because they demand it.

There's reality.

Then there's fantasy.

What you're suggesting (only with tracking, not testing for clarity) is a fascist fantasy. It's making a promise of security in exchange for giving up innate rights, but the reality is the solution offers no real security -- just the illusion of it. Like the Patriot Act. Live Free or Die is more than a motto for a lot of Americans. Any sort of tracking, medical implants, chips, or certificates like they're trying in Germany just will never be accepted here -- and, I'd argue, should be resisted at all costs.

(Again, I'm a Hollywood Liberal saying this -- imagine what the libertarians or conservatives will say)

i dunno. seems to me, the farther you're down, the higher the rebound.

One good example of that is the Black Death.  The economies of Europe and Asia boomed for decades afterwards because there were suddenly a lot of job openings and still a lot of aggregate demand despite the population loss.

I hear you there. Yesterday alone, Venuzula tried to take a cruise ship by force. Iran is making moves (or trying to, but stepping on their own *****), and of course there is still the whole possibility that this virus is nothing more than biological warfare:

We're only getting about 40% of the picture in terms of what's really going on. Maybe even less.
