The difference is the number from the cruise ship that are quarantined. Trump says that the upcoming warmer weather should help, which is accurate.

Right but still. Not all the USA will be in warmer weather for Spring. Witch makes it easier to spread as well. I'll be detailed. further North when weather say like 50 or 60s. Someone infected goes down south cause there infected or go to air condering place open place, store whatever..  SIngapore has had cases with the warmer weather as well. But not as many.  Hot weather is not a good enough answer to me.  People travel and hot weather right now since this is new might be best answer. Understand what I mean by details?

Don't trust most of them including Trump. Trump could of handled this much better instead wishing it goes away when the heat comes. That's not being proactive. It is hoping something goes away.

Plus Trump said only 22 but number says 60.

I'm betting you're one of those people who believes Trump called coronavirus "a hoax."

I genuinely wish people would calm the eff down. So many people are creating panic almost exclusively because they need another reason to piss their Pampers about Trump.

See flaws both sides. What's happening in CA is awful lots people living in the streets. Coronavirus is definitely not a hoax. Was like this in with Bill's coaches. Gailey had a little heart too but Sean McDermott he's a good guy and proactive, detailed among many other things to do things.. Right guy after Wrecks. (one of the worst ever)

Just saying would rather have proactive for solutions instead of name blaming, pointing fingers, or hoping something goes away. Like one of buddies 24/7 drinking problem. Just hoping goes away instead of doing the proactive solutions .

He didn't say that the warmer weather would solve the problem, he said it would help. I guess you hear what you want to hear. He's trying to do his job and everybody on the Left and their MSM spokespeople are doing everything they can to prevent that. It's not that the Left even disagrees with his policies because when Obama did the same things there wasn't a peep out of them.

I don't see anyone in a panic... If you take out media entertainment and internet trolling no one really cares.

COVID-19? What COVID-19? Why the Panic over Sniffles?

Q & A with "A Guy That Just Won't Get With the Program and other random ramblings". No one likes a gas-lighter.
COVID-19 and You.

Q. It's just the flu.
A. No, it's not. It's genetic lineage is closer to SARS and MERS.

Q. It's maybe a little worse than the flu.
A. Not at all. The Severe Complication Rate for influenza ranges in the 1-3% range. For COVID it's around 15-20%, and often requires intensive care in a hospital.

Q. It has a higher severity rate, so what? Mur'ca has the bestest darn sickcare system in the world.
A. True, but the ICU will cost you your retirement. Besides, Mur'ca has 93,000 ICU beds, of which 95-99% are occupied during normal times.

Q. So, put people in regular hospital rooms.
A. 90+% occupancy rate during normal times.

Q. The flu kills more people than COVID-19.
A. The Case Fatality Rate (CFR) for the flu is ~ 0.1%. We don't know what it is yet for COVID, due to countries fudging their statistics but non-news medical journals are reporting anywhere from 1% to 12%. That's 10-120x for those of you with a post-2010 college education.

Q. Oh come on! There are 64 cases in a nation of 320,000,000 people!
A. True, but there were 30 or so last week. Also, as of two days ago the CDC only tested 427 Americans. You can't find what you aren't looking for. Also, this thing has an incubation range from 5-20 days and viral shedding occurs asymptomatically. That means YOU could have it and spread it all over the place before the first sniffle appears. Also, heed Einstein's wisdom:

Perhaps mankind's greatest shortcoming is his failure to understand the exponential ~ Albert Einstein.

People naturally think linearly, like as in a straight line. Only through conscious effort can we foresee the consequences of an exponential event.

Q. It's a bio-weapon and the incompetent Chinese screwed up. There is a biowarfare lab 35 km south of Wuhan.
A. First, in my 22 year career as an engineer (7 yrs in healthcare before that) I have worked with many Chinese. They are EXTREMELY meticulous and highly competent so please stop being a xenophobic pri*k.
That aside, there IS evidence that this was genetically modified. VERY STRONG evidence. But there is no biowarfare lab south of Wuhan. Ask me why, as the answer is too long to put into a sentence or two.

Q. A vaccine is right around the corner.
A. Well, two problems here.

First:

You know the Common Cold, right? Well, where is the vaccine? See, two families of viridae are primarily responsible for what is colloquially known as "a cold". They are the viridae Rhinovirus and Coronavirus. The concern here is that both are what are called mRNA viruses which are crazy mutagenic, which results in the same symptoms with every new cold, but a slightly different virus causing each new cold. Call them "Shape Shifters" if you will. You know, like Lizard men. They actually exist because David Ickes says they do and he has a lot of followers you know.

Second:

A vaccine for SARS was quickly rushed into production after the outbreak (not epidemic) of 2002-2003. The problem was that it hadn't been properly tested, which can take a LONG TIME. So what happened? Well, in a lot of people that took the vaccine, something called T4 Pathogenesis (google DuckDuckGo "T4 immune system") occurred.

What's that?
Fair Question: Normally a vaccine is akin to giving your immune system a line of coke. Not a perfect analogy but it will suffice for our purpose. It, your immune system gets happy and stronger, develops more will power, more strength and becomes more determined than ever. T4 Pathogenesisis can result from a poorly prepared and tested vaccine which is akin to giving your immune system a line of Flakka, or Bath Salts instead. It's a hyperimmune response far out of whack with what is healthy. When the immune system sees anything that looks even close to the antigen, it goes bananas, eating not only it, but effectively YOU (medical/nursing people know the more common terms "Cytokine Storm" or "Inflammatory Cascade"). Suffice to say that vaccine was promptly pulled from the shelves because its mortality rate was higher than SARS itself. So there's that......

Q. So, you're saying don't take a vaccine if one is developed? You an "anti-vaxer?"
A. Ah, "anti-vaxer". I learned that term in my Molecular Biology class at UB in 1987. How scientific. You have a reading comprehension issue. I never said that. I myself am going to see what it does to the first few percent of human guinea pigs before bolting out the door. But that decision is 100% yours.

Q. But the experts say....
A. How do you know who is indeed an expert? And isn't that Argumentum ad Vericundiam? Shame on you.

Q. Oh My God! Another panicking person? Is that what you are?
A. Define panic please? Never mind, allow me to please......

A fictional anecdote on Panic.

I you were by the beach, and a report came out that in the next 3 hrs where was a 30% chance of a massive tsunami slamming into the shore, would stick around based on the time that you have, and the odds? Would you mock and scorn those that left? If so then ask yourself why? Be honest with yourself. Or would you take advantage of that time, not knowing how large the tidal wave was, knowing that while the odds are slightly in your favor, the consequences of not acting are horrendous, so therefore you would get as far away as possible, as soon as possible? In my youth a reaction like that would be called "prudence" due to rational and reasoned concern.

Panic, before the lexicon was destroyed by childish overuse of hyperbole, was defined like this:

You are in a shopping mall, yes you found one, and suddenly some mad man starts going postal on everyone around him with a machete and you are a mere 10 meters from him. Your heart rate jumps to 140, your adrenal glands dump a massive load of adrenaline into your bloodstream, your reptilian brain takes control. You don't even think. You just run and are able to run faster than you've ever run in your life. A feeling of terror streaks through your veins..

Panic during the present Narrative Era sounds like this:

A virus has infected 59 countries. The nation with the largest supply chain in the world shuts down 90% of its production in order to contain this "harmless virus", enacts measures far more draconian than its known for against its own populace, at risk of generating substantial political-social unrest, and massive economic damage.
The Mainstream Narrative tells you that "the flu kills more people in a year", and "most people get about as sick as a seasonal flu victim", yet you are CURIOUS, and dig deeper.

That's the first indicator that you are panicking per today's narrative, today's definition of "panic". Yes, God rested on the 7th day. But what you didn't know is that on the 8th day he was bored so he created the Mainstream Media, aka The Mainstream Narrative. But I digress.

So you dig deeper, looking for sources of information that are more congruent with the few and sparse known facts that you do possess. But even those are sketchy because you still lack first-hand knowledge. So you do something verboten, something so unspeakably awful that you risk social ostracization:
You, *gasp* engage in DISCERNMENT *Cue creepy Vincent Price *Bahahahahah* sound*.

You rifle through dozens of sources, back-testing their predictions, confirmed their claims where you can, until you find a few that just seem to fit present observations far better than any other sources. You are now in the second stage of panic.

But even they get something wrong here and there. Perhaps they are only 85% accurate. It matters not that they subsequently correct themselves. It matters not that they preface their best attempt to characterize the situation with "We just don't have enough data to be certain", or "at present this is the most likely case", they have been wrong. Sites like these.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF9...g?pbjreload=10

or this guy,

https://www.youtube.com/user/ChrisMa...m?pbjreload=10

Not 100% correct all of the time. What's wrong with you?, you ask. There was a reason God only took 1 day off to create The Mainstream Narrative.

But you tried to find the 100% accurate information source. You really did. But apparently parent company Gulag took down Jesus Christ's YouTube Channel because people were triggered. So these are among the best that you can work with.

As a result of gathering information that goes against the grain of the Mainstream Narrative, which 99% of people believe as if God himself emblazoned their words on stone tablets, you have been confirmed to be infected with the far more dangerous Tin Hatter Virus, the main cause of panic.

So you go get some food, masks, other essentials, just in case. You do this out of concern for yourself and your loved ones. You decide to avoid large events in the near future, either upping or lowering your alert level and scaling your prudent measures appropriate to new unfolding information. As a result you are spending less on entertain, recreation, etc. Worse, you are saving (cardinal sin in an economy whose Business Cycle has been replaced by The Credit Cycle).

Wow, are you messed up. You're in a full-blown PANIC.

"Look buddy, if you don't knock that nonsense off, stop scaring people, and get out and start spending more again, on credit, with money you don't have, to buy things that you don't need, to impress people who don't even care for you then you will forever be known as the the guy/gal that panicked during The Pandemic That Officially Never Happened. "

"OK Boomer. Prudent, scaled preparations based on emerging information? Seeking out, listening to, and confirming information from non Narrative so-called subject matter experts (so what if they have Ph.Ds in the requisite field?)? They aren't Beautiful People, "faux-journalist celebrities" with magnetic personalities, in $2,000 outfits, sitting in a nice studio, with hypnotizing background music and fancy lighting reading crap off of a teleprompter that came directly from government sources and parroted uncritically. You're not only in a PANIC, but you are NUTS too."

My how the lexicon has changed. The new and devolved definition of "panic" is what is nuts. I never knew that gas-lighting could be applied by The Mainstream Narrative on a national scale and be so effective. You learn something new everyday, don't you?

That is, unless you personally claim to be always right, all of the time. In which case My Lord, do you prefer to be called "Jesus", "Christ", or "Messiah"?

Words to the Wise: Never trust a person who either cheats on their spouse or never admits to being wrong. These are people that would be the first to throw you off of the lifeboat to improve their own odds.

Was it panic that caused you to sign the papers on your home owners insurance, fearful that your house was going to burn down?

To wrap this up though, it is foolish to panic, using the true, original meaning of the word. Seek out information. Convince yourself of what is or is not going on, and then if the best evidence that you have at hand supports prudent and measured actions then take them. And NEVER trust anything your read, see, or hear without factually verifying the claims personally.

But those among us that are wise already know this.....

Wisdom is a lifetime spent both learning, and listening, when you would rather have been talking.
This post has been sponsored by The United States of A Narrative. Mur'ca! F*** Yeah!

Q. Wait! Wait! Don't Go! Are you a Democrat or a Republican

A. F**k off.

Bloomberg coronavirus message to air on primetime TV after billionaire buys 3 minutes on CBS, NBC

By Dom Calicchio | Fox News

Billionaire presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg released an “Address to the Nation” Saturday on the coronavirus outbreak, with plans to air the video on primetime TV Sunday night.

The three-minute-long spot, already posted online, shows Bloomberg in an office with an American flag in the background, appearing to strive for a White House visual effect.

“At times like this, it’s the job of the president to reassure the public that he or she is taking all the necessary steps to protect the health and wellbeing of every citizen,” Bloomberg says, referring to the outbreak.

The video -- scheduled to air around 8:30 p.m. on CBS and NBC -- came on the same day that Bloomberg’s rivals in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination were competing in the South Carolina primary – the last of four early races that Bloomberg, a late entrant, chose to skip.

Coronavirus: When All Else Fails, Try Reason

I’m phlegmatic by nature. It gives me an edge up when mass hysteria seems to take up so much space in the news and the pronouncements of Democratic leaders. Looking at the best information available to me, I find it beyond question that the President has taken the right steps to deal with this variant flu; that few people in this country will perish from it; that while there may be some economic consequences of the supply disruption from China, the fact that we’ve been decoupling ourselves from China under this administration means they are likely to be smaller and more short-lived than the market manipulators would have us believe.

1.  What is the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and How Does it Compare to the Flu?

The most informative reports I can find on this are from Johns Hopkins Medicine, the New England Journal of Medicine, and the Director of the CDC.

One of the difficulties of diagnosing those stricken with this novel virus is the symptoms are very similar to those of the other more common infectious respiratory illnesses we call flu. We have a vaccine to prevent some of the most dangerous types of flu or to reduce its severity. Right now, there is no vaccine to treat the new virus.

{snip}

2.  The Democrats' Fact Free criticisms of the Trump Administration’s responses Are so Bad Even the AP Fact Checkers Had to call Them on It

“Democratic presidential contenders are describing the federal infectious-disease bureaucracy as rudderless and ill-prepared for the coronavirus threat because of budget cuts and ham-handed leadership by President Donald Trump. That’s a distorted picture.”

The best timeline of the administration response I’ve found is by Victoria Taft writing for PJMedia who contrasts this response with the Obama administration’s tardy, ineffectual response to the swine flu pandemic in 2009 which “infected millions of Americans” and resulted in “more than 1,000” deaths in America according to the CDC:

{snip}

3. The Ability of Governments to Deal with this Health Crisis Depends of the Nature of the Government

Responsive, open governments with sound infrastructures--like ours--are the best gauge of how rapidly the disease will be contained.

Right now, the autocratic closed systems in China and Iran seem to be doing the worst, while free countries like the U.S., Taiwan, Singapore, and Australia are doing the best. The comparison of Taiwan and China is instructive.

Was talking with my brother last night.  His daughter's/my niece's roommate is from Wuhan.  She said that when she went back home in December for break, it was weird to see the market from where this allegedly came was scrubbed clean and empty (whereas it's usually filthy and bustling).  I said "December?  So they knew back then?"
