Looks like someone got a new "post it everywhere" line from the Soros farm.

So, Conte must be mass-murderer in Italy, right?

Merkel is killing them in Germany, right?

Let me guess. The only one making a difference is Xi in China, amirite?

Man, we should really build a national monument to George Soros if he's 1/100th as powerful as the alt-righters claim he is.

How does testing stop the spread?

GG testing does help to isolation the people that get the virus. Without testing the speed of it would be quicker. Testing people put them in isolation if positive. Hell people are being under quarantine if they don't get it mandatory quaratine..   Easier to put people in quarantine.

We are seeing proof of that in multiple threads.

Lol right.

Just disagreeing only thing with others on testing. It is  really important.

Unsure how true this is but something to share.

Florida governor Ron DeSantis issued a statewide lockdown Wednesday after revealing coronavirus first started circulating in Miami during the Super Bowl in early February.

The Republican had so far refused to initiate a statewide lockdown despite cases of coronavirus there surging to nearly 7,000, with 857 people hospitalized and 85 dead. The order will go into effect Thursday at midnight and will last 30 days.

But under increasing pressure DeSantis announced Wednesday: 'I'm going to be doing an executive order today directing all Floridians to limit movements and personal interactions outside the home to only those necessary to obtain or provide essential services or conduct essential activities.'

The governor said officials cannot 'hamfist everyone into their bedroom' but urged people to act responsibly. He said he had consulted the White House of his decision. More than 30 others states had already issued such orders a week or more ago.

Isolation, decontamination, and tracing line to potentially infected people.

Why do you need to be tested if you are feeling symptoms, and should practice proper protocol if you think you are infected?

Are you saying that every person should be tested, regardless pf symptoms?  How often should people be retested?

Who is going to be responsible for tracing and enforcing the downstream infection risk?

Or

We keep hammering away the proper procedure to keep oneself clear of the infection in the first place?

We as citizens can't control a foreign government, but, at least in theory, we can control our own.

"In theory"?

Why, we do. Unless you're suggesting there's powers that control it who are above reproach and recourse. But considering you laughed (then ran away from) at the notion of a "Deep State" (which I fully admit is a bastardized term rather than an accurate one), that can't be the case.

I don't think anyone is arguing testing isn't important -- just that it's not the solution, or end-all-be-all. Which is how the argument is being framed by many in the establishment press circles (and then, repeated down here by the parrots).

Look, I'm happy to go back to the beginning on this as long as you actually care about the answers.

The virus has an incubation period of 2-14 days before symptoms present. A new study from the Netherlands think that there may be 25% of people that remain completely asymptomatic. If you have an interaction with anyone, you could pass the virus without feeling sick. Say you're a grocery store employee who works curbside and selects people's groceries, bags them and places them into their cart - you could unknowingly pass the virus on the groceries. If you're given a test when you exhibit symptoms,( or best case even if you dont), then local health officials could alert the people you came into contact with that they could be affected. Here in Austin during the early days of this (a few weeks ago) Health officials did exactly this and notified the public where that person was on what days at what times.

It's at least part of the reason why we only have 200 cases as the 11th largest city in the country.

See the answer above - how often do you test the asymptomatic people?

Testing helps with statistics.  It does little to stop the actual spread.  You don't need to go to a doctor to know you have the flu.  Most people still go to work when they get the flu.  This is the case that when you think you have the flu, stay away from everyone else.   This is actually what SK and Taiwan do very well, and the US doesn't

Well your statement flies in the face of the scientific consensus and the evidence of the countries that have contained the problem better than us. What backs up those claims?

Have you seen the probability distribution of that 2-14 day symptomatic period?  If you have, you wouldn't be throwing out that figure to back whatever point you are making.  Hint, it's most certainly not a normal bell curve.  That's why for the vast, vast majority of cases, symptoms appear within 48-72 hours.   If people had known that and were told in early March to stay the ***** home if they were feeling even a hint of a sniffle, then US would be nowhere near the current situation.  Zero testing, 100% common sense advice.

You used the word "consensus" above while talking about science.

Science is NOT consensus. Saying consensus has a place in a scientific discussion proves you're no empiricist.
