You said “cut funding”. If you said “eliminated an office”, we wouldn’t be having this back and forth

Ok, funded was allocated away from this particular cause of fighting global diseases. The office tasked with it was eliminated.

Can I go one further? The Whistle Blower complaint we saw yesterday might very well be related to this cut. Seems they were clueless and may be very well responsible for the case that popped up in California near Travis AFB as unprepared workers simply left the infected areas without screening or precautions. You know about that? The workers who not protected and helped the infected, this was done over objections of CDC

Furthermore, it looks like after you followed the MSM line, which was proven false by the MSM, you found something else to hang onto to try and “win” your argument.  Rather than gracefully accepting you were wrong (to believe 2 politicians vying for the Presidency, which is understandable).

I imagine the Office in charge was paid, right? They were cut, right? Funded was allocated away from this problem, right?

Yup, I heard about the case in CA...also about flights in JFK not screening incoming passengers from China.

All involved in this can do better.  I’m not downplaying that.  I’m just refuting you’re point about CDC funding cuts not being accurate

OMG what would I do without the CDC to protect me?

And don't be so hostile. It's unbecoming and more importantly its's not healthy to have so much repressed rage. You don't need the CDC to tell you that.

CNN's coronavirus coverage criticized: ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome strikes again’

As coronavirus concerns sweep the nation and make news across the globe, liberal CNN is being criticized for placing blame for its spread on President Trump and politicizing the alarming illness.

CNN’s website on Friday declared in its top story that Trump is hoping for a “miracle to make virus disappear” and called Trump’s comments “divorced from the gravity of the coronavirus situation, only fanned the impression of a leadership vacuum.”

At the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., CNN’s politicizing of coronavirus has been a hot topic in the halls of the Gaylord National Resort & Conference Center as some attendees are hesitant to shake hands and hand sanitizer is prominent.

NewsBusters managing editor Curtis Houck told Fox News from CPAC that CNN’s coronavirus coverage reminds him of the way the network covered the strike that killed Iranian general Qassem Soleimani.

“They were talking about any sort of consequences, in terms of loss of life on the American side, hypothetically – which ended up not happening – would be the fault of the president,” Houck said.

But while Soleimani was a terrorist who “didn’t care about the American people,” coronavirus doesn’t have feelings.

Let’s just save money and not pay for anymore sewers or repair or maintain them, either. Who needs them!

It's a stretch to label CNN as a news organization at this point. It's basically an left wing propaganda machine.

It is looking like we are soon to see how 2 different municipalities handle cases being within school systems. 1 in WA and 1 in OR. So far, their plans are to be closed for 1 day for cleansing.

The person did not recently travel to a country where the virus is circulating and the person is also not believed to have had close contact with another confirmed case, the two most common sources of exposure.

The case is considered presumptive until the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirms a positive test result.

Dr. Jennifer Vines, the lead health officer for Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington counties, said this person has spent time at Forest Hills Elementary School in Lake Oswego. The Lake Oswego School District confirmed the person is an employee at that school.

The OHA said this person may have exposed students and staff.

The Lake Oswego School District is planning to close the school through Wednesday to allow for deep cleaning. Public health officials will complete their investigation, including contacting employees at the school and family of children to inform them of their possible exposure and let them know next steps.

The Lake Oswego School District announced Friday night that all activities at all district schools would be canceled for the weekend, "in an abundance of caution."

"We anticipate all schools to be open on Monday, March 1, except Forest Hills. Forest Hills will remain closed through Wednesday, March 3," according to a district statement.

ANALYSIS: TRUE.

Cotton calls China travel ban ‘the single most consequential and valuable thing’ done to slow coronavirus.

.

HOW AUSTRALIA DEFIED THE WHO ON ITS TRAVEL BAN.

Why were the Australians ahead of the world? For a very simple reason. They don’t trust the WHO. The information from multiple international sources is that the WHO is under intense pressure from the Chinese government, and succumbing to it.

The Australian Commonwealth Chief Medical Officer, Brendan Murphy, told the NSC that it was medically inexplicable that the WHO hadn’t already declared a global pandemic. It’s politics, in other words.

That’s why Australia had earlier forged ahead of the WHO in declaring the China travel ban, on February 1. It was, again, on the unanimous advice of the AHPPC.

The travel ban was decided immediately after the US made the same call. Beijing instantly lashed both the US and Australia on that occasion – the Chinese Communist Party’s official mouthpiece, People’s Daily, calling it “racist”.

But, of course, that decision now looks very wise, more so with each passing day.

Plus:

“With the ongoing China travel ban, I’m very sympathetic about the impact on tourism and farmers, but I’m much less so with the universities,” he began. “Because they have been warned for years that they are over-reliant on the Chinese market, and for years they’ve reassured us that it was all fine, and that if anything happened they’d be able to withstand it. They rode the cycle up, now they can ride the cycle down.”

The universities receive $17 billion a year in federal cash already. Paterson said they should be given this opportunity to show they could indeed withstand the lost income. Addressing Scott Morrison, Paterson concluded: “We shouldn’t relax the travel ban, and there should be no financial bail-out for the universities.”

Read the whole thing.

Should be? We both know that he has no shame. He's spent decades saying whatever stupidity he thinks will score him "points" today, then pretend it didn't happen tomorrow when he's made to look like a fool.

About 18 years ago, my dad was part of a group from our local chamber of commerce who went to Washington about how NY violated both state and federal law to split the 716 area code. They met with Chuckles and Senator Hillary. My dad remarked, after coming back, that he felt dirty after shaking Schumer's hand. Only time in his life he ever felt that way just from shaking someone's hand.
