CDC recommends "virtual Thanksgiving" this year

by Jazz Shaw

After the patron saint of restricting Americans’ freedoms suggested we might need to cancel Christmas, I suppose this shouldn’t come as all that much of a surprise. The CDC is announcing today that they are recommending that Americans celebrate Thanksgiving virtually again this year.

No.

I’m sending them the virtual GFY message.

Anybody notice that as of this month Joe Biden’s been in charge of the pandemic fir as long as Trump was?  Anyone seen the dialogue change all that much? I haven’t!

Seattle police department prepares to fire up to 40% of its cops if they fail to get vaccinated in line with mayor's strict mandate by October 18 - despite already suffering staffing lows not seen since the 1980s

by Alyssa Guzman & Alastair Talbot

Seattle's police department is preparing to fire up to 400 officers who have not yet had their Covid shot in line with the city's strict vaccine mandate—despite already suffering staff shortages, rising crime rates and high 911 response times. The Seattle Police Department has an October 18 deadline for all sworn personnel to turn in proof of COVID-19 vaccinations or risk losing their jobs. As of Friday, 292 officers have yet to turn in proof of vaccination—or 27 percent of the department's 1,080 deployable police officers. Another 111 officers—ten percent of the deployable officers—are waiting on exemption requests to be approved. If all 403 officers are let go

WATCH: Woman in Drive-Thru Perfectly Exposes Mask Hysteria

The woman continually asks the drive-thru worker why it’s safe for him to hand her a mask but not to just hand her the drink she paid for…and she’s 100% right. What’s being asked of her makes no sense whatsoever. If it’s safe to reach over and give her a piece of cheap, ineffective cloth to put on her face, then it’s obviously safe to hand her a beverage.

This isn’t about safety, though. After all, the interaction in the drive-thru is also taking place outside, where COVID spread is extremely limited. Instead, this is about control and conformity. The policy says you must wear a mask so they demand you wear a mask, common sense need not apply. It does not matter what the data says.

What a joke this nation has become...

Gen Colin Powell (RIP), a Multiple Myeloma patient, dies "with complications from COVID"

Um, MM actually kills the blood's T & B cells and destroys the Immune system

He died of complications of Covid-19, his family said in a statement, adding that he had been vaccinated and was treated at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, in Bethesda, Md., where he died. Mr. Powell had undergone treatment for multiple myeloma, which compromised his immune system, a spokeswoman said.

What are top causes of death from MM:

The most common cause of death related to multiple myeloma is infection, with pneumonia being the most common fatal infection. Other common causes of death are bleeding (from low platelet counts), complications of bone fractures, kidney failure, and blood clots in the lungs.

Considering all the Wuhan deaths that were counted last year under Trump, this should qualify as the same.

The messaging is being sent to the wrong party.  Corporate America is being targeted by Biden et al to be the fall guy here.  They shift the blame from a tepid and impotent government to large business under threat of massive fine, and the will be happy to collect the fine.  You have otherwise reasonable folk, @ALF for example, supporting this approach.  And when someone does catch the Vid, what better source of revenue than to blame it on the local McDs, who obviously violated govt mandates.

I went to a local bagel shop last week.  Sign on the door reads “Masks Recommended”, I didn’t have one so in I went.  The employees were nice, I received no push back from other customers, but couldn’t help but notice after filling my coffee cup, she grabbed a stirrer with her ungloved fingers and put it in my cup.  I also noticed the communal sugar/cream/napkin bar had the signs of being pawed over by any number of Covid carrying folks, some in masks.  Worse yet, as I left through a side door, I saw two or three discarded masks littering the sidewalk.

With respect to the zone of danger, me walking around maskless may have been the least dangerous element of the day.

CNN Investigation: Tens of millions of filthy, used medical gloves imported into the US

There are many more warehouses just like it still in operation today in Thailand -- trying to cash in on the demand for medical-grade nitrile gloves, which exploded with the coronavirus pandemic. And they're boxing up millions of these sub-standard gloves for export to the United States, and countries around the world amid a global shortage that will take years to ease.

A months-long CNN investigation has found that tens of millions of counterfeit and second-hand nitrile gloves have reached the United States, according to import records and distributors who bought the gloves -- and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Criminal investigations are underway by the authorities in the US and Thailand.

"There's an enormous amount of bad product coming in," Stein says, "an endless stream of filthy, second-hand and substandard gloves coming into the US of which federal authorities, it seems, are only now beginning to understand the enormous scale."

South African Medical Head Says You May Want to Slow-Roll the Panic Over New Omicron Variant

by Nick Arama

We reported on the announcement of a new COVID variant which they are now calling the Omicron variant. The variant was just discovered this week, but already you can hear the race to paint it in the worst light possible, suggesting that there was a lot to be concerned about because it was “heavily mutated,” that immunity and the vaccines might not protect against it. We saw the Dow take a huge plunge immediately after, likely in part because of thinking that this news could lead back to more government restrictions and problems. The Biden administration reacted in a chaotic fashion.

{snip}

In other words, it might change and there may be causes for concern, but they’re not freaking out yet about it because they don’t have the evidence yet since it just appeared.

Imagine actually responding in a considered fashion, based on the evidence. That’s something that seems to have been sorely lacking over the past couple of years, with how governments have responded to the virus — especially the Biden administration which hasn’t met a mandate they don’t like (even if Biden himself flouts those mandates himself).

People here and Trump claimed the border lockdowns saved millions of lives last year. Are we now against border lockdowns? It's hard to keep track.

Are they xenophobic or not?  It's hard to keep track.

No one here has a problem with the travel ban.  Unlike most Dems last year.

In 2031, he's going to be talking about a 157th wave.

During an appearance on CBS' Face the Nation on Nov. 28, Fauci warned that the latest spike in national infections could worsen in the coming weeks. "Well, we certainly have the potential to go into a fifth wave. And the fifth wave, or the magnitude of any increase, if you want to call it that it, will turn into a wave, will really be dependent upon what we do in the next few weeks to a couple of months," he told host Margaret Brennan.

I would hope rational people now recognize the travel bans are useless unless you plan on going the China/New Zealand route.

Trump had a first hand exposure to Covid weeks after our shutdown. Once something this contagious is here, it's here. Stopping some cases coming in on planes is putting your pinky in the crumbling Hoover Dam.
