Pathetic - how anyone can justify extending the dictator in chief is not American

What’s really funny is how you criticize him for dictating too much ...but...also for not dictating enough on Covid 19. This dictator business is more complicated than anyone thought

PS: You’re in a Cult! 😂

just Sweden’s chief epidemiologist. It seems wholly unnecessary but their current restrictions seems to have things under control.

So you decided to quote a post to contradict what you said and to own yourself?

What do you think a restriction is if not a shut/lockdown? If you tell me to limit my business capacity to 50%, you are shutting down part of my business.

Show me where he's discussing a lockdown.     Even in UK, where everyone is pushing panic porn is doing nothing of the sort and is just curtailing pub hours, because apparently people have looser standards later in the evening after a few pints.  Who would have guessed?

Locking down is in many flavors. Would you say that CA is locked down? I would. But restaurants can do takeout. I would say PA is in lockdown but restaurants can have 50% capacity in some places.

Sweden already has rules in places, and also many recommendations (that people are following by and large). If you restrict people's behavior, you're locking them out of things. It ain't rocket science but if you want to dicker on how we use "lockdowns," have at it. Sweden is considering "additional freedom-restrictions."

Stop being a hard head and just admit that your wording wasn't correct.  Lock downs means that things are shut down and people are not able to go out except for necessary items.

"Sweden may consider additional social distancing measures

That would more accurately describe "lock downs"

Are you seriously trying to make this argument?

Restriction = Closing pubs 1 hr earlier

Lockdown = Not allowing any activity at all

Israel enters full 16-day lockdown on Friday

The government approved at dawn on Thursday, Sept. 24, a full national lockdown to rein in the soaring coronavirus contagion starting Friday, Sept. 25 up to Oct.11.

Closure is to be universally applied, excepting only for people employed in essential services. The extreme measure, advocated by PM Binyamin Netanyahu when the number of new cases a day climbed past 7,000 and serious cases to 657, was finally endorsed by Defense Minister Benny Gantz who acknowledged there was no option. Overnight, there were another 10 deaths raising the total to 1,375.

In the end, prayer services and demonstrations alike are be restricted alike to 20 participants outdoors. Both chief rabbis ordered the closure of synagogues even on Yom Kippur the holiest day of the Jewish year, as well as the subsequent Succoth festival, for the sake of saving lives.

Anti-government protesters will be confined like the rest of the population to within 1km of their homes, thereby breaking up the unruly, mass outbreaks taking place weekly outside the prime minister’s residence in Jerusalem.

The international airport will be closed to outgoing flights. Food stores and pharmacies will stay open, while all other retail trade is shuttered like the schools. Public transport will be limited.

After 16 days, the state of covid-19 infection will be assessed to determine if the lockdown is to be extended or lightened in careful stages,

People were free to leave, but the official guidance was to stay inside, except for necessary items.  But you knew that.

..

Schools and non-essential businesses have been closed for about a month in state as officials continue to urge people to stay home and remain at least 6 feet apart when they must leave their homes.

So there wasn’t a lockdown then per the definition of Magox? Thanks again for confirming

Uhm, things were shut down and people did not go out except for necessities.  I take it you were here in late March to prove there wasn't a lockdown?

Some people chose to go out for things other than necessities., therefore it was not a lockdown per the definition of Magox.

Magox's definition - Lock downs means that things are shut down and people are not able to go out except for necessary items.

NJ shut nearly everything down, and governor issued an order for people to stay inside, other than to get necessary items.  Why are you even arguing this?

What is in your link...

Don’t expect the near lockdown....

In an interview on MSNBC, Murphy said New Jersey will likely be under strict social-distancing orders to fight the spread of the coronavirus for at least the rest of April and all of May before restrictions might begin to be pulled back and some semblance of normalcy returns to day-to-day living.

“I personally think in the warmer weather, we could begin to find our footing, assuming again that we’ve got the health care infrastructure, especially broad-scale testing, that we’re going to need to give us that confidence,” Murphy said. “I think this is a June or July much better reality if we keep doing our part, especially stay at home right now."

Schools and non-essential businesses have been closed for about a month in state as officials continue to urge people to stay home and remain at least 6 feet apart when they must leave their homes.

NOT ABLE TO GO OUT is not the same as officials urging people to stay home.

Gov. Phil Murphy on Saturday announced he’s putting New Jersey into near-lockdown mode to combat the spread of the coronavirus, ordering nearly all of the state’s 9 million residents to stay at home and mandating that non-essential retail businesses be closed until further notice.
