Great news. Hope it trends the same way over the next week or so. A lot of testing sites closed because of the potential hurricane, which could delay some numbers.

still does not take away from the point that less than .0004 of our population has died “ with” Covid in 6 months. 
 

very anecdotal, but I can tell you this. I was visiting and staying with a close friend this week that is the CFO of a major insurance company, a name we all know and see ya ads for all the time. 
 

they have seen zero statistical rise in life insurance claims vs the previous 10 years. If the damn thing was a crisis, don’t ya think that would be elevated even a little?

It had the desired effect of keeping the scared people scared.  There are still many families who haven't left the perimeters of their yards since March.  There are still people who are afraid to let their kids out and play.  

 

Glad that you're not scared, but that doesn't mean that other people are being rational about this virus, because the negative stories always outnumber the positive ones.

This is not the kind of data that anyone has gathered in the past.  But when you go to any playground or park in Northern NJ, it's noticeably emptier than at any prior year.  It doesn't help that there are still barriers at the park entrances and mandatory face coverings regulations are still in effect, despite zero scientific evidence of a viral spread - outdoors and in 80+ weather.   Yet, all those little things continue stoking the fear in the public, when the messaging should be that it's safe to go outside.

Florida counted 247 deaths yesterday... when you read the article it states this is an accumulation over multiple weeks. Not a 24 hr period. That’s the main issue with the information everyone is getting. Sun Sentinel is a disappointment with their intel. I could care less about the political side of this they need to do their jobs a lot better.

The scary part about the story is that NY Health & Hospitals were put in charge of contact tracing, when that agency was the one that totally botched the response in the first place.

And expect that for future pandemics the Sweden model with some tweaks to better protectively quarantine the elderly will be the model to follow.

True although a lot of other countries made the same mistakes because of how quickly this virus escalated and how little we knew about it.  If the Nordic countries creep up in similar death rates and Sweden doesn't experience a second wave then that should be the model to follow.  I think the ultimate blueprint will be somewhere in between Sweden's model and South Korea's model.

Cuomo is right that not only Americans but also governors who listened to Trump wound up failing to take the pandemic seriously. He went on:

Looks like what we've been discussing over the past 6 weeks seems highly likely.   Our theories on herd-like immunity at 20% COVID-19 antibody infection levels seems to be all but officially confirmed.      I remember it was discussed early on and it was Sweden who first made this observation, not because of the T-Cell immunities from previous human coronaviruses but that 17% was their burnout level.  Now we have a pretty clear indication that it's because of T-cell's from past common colds that help us fight this virus.

 

This is a pretty big major F'ing deal and should significantly alter how we view COVID-19.  More money should be put into this so that it can be positively confirmed.
