SWFL hospitals shown as testing 100% positive for COVID-19, but they say that’s wrong

Is Florida’s positivity rate accurate? Several organizations that perform tests for the coronavirus show a 100% positivity rate, including many Southwest Florida hospital systems.

The state says it’s working with the labs to make sure they are reported correctly, but the hospitals say they are submitting it right to begin with. So where’s the mistake?

Concern sparked Tuesday because the Florida Department of Health shows multiple labs in the state with a 100% positive testing rate. That would mean every single person tested received a positive result.

Lee Health and other hospitals say that’s wrong. But, at this point, no one knows why the error exists.

Data we analyzed from 110 health care locations in Florida show everyone who went to them tested positive for COVID-19.

The labs are mostly small, independent labs or small labs within big hospitals. A small lab at Lee Memorial Hospital shows 405 out of 405 tests positive for COVID-19. But Lee Health has tested thousands of people and says its positive test rate is 18%.

Those numbers also show up in state department of health data.

NCH Healthcare System, DeSoto Memorial Hospital, Hendry Regional Medical Center and Advance Medical of Naples all have labs showing 99 or 100 percent positive.

All say it’s wrong. Advance Medical of Naples flat out told us the “data is incorrect.”

Has the CDC not provided recommendations? Fauci? Birx?

Fauci.

He's the guy the entire administration is denouncing, now.

Too bad Trump hasn't been the leading scientist throughout this, even though he claims that scientists marvel at how smart he is.

WELL, IF THE EXPERTS HADN’T BEEN REPEATEDLY DISHONEST AND WRONG, MAYBE THE PUBLIC WOULDN’T HAVE TUNED THEM OUT:

Public’s disconnect from COVID-19 reality worries experts.

It’s not good that people are acting this way, but it’s not surprising either, and at this point it’s mostly the experts’ own fault.

The mask lie alone was deadly to their credibility, and the protest double-standard doubly so.

It's not only the media that's lying

50 lab locations reported 100% positive results

are they even performing the tests at this point?

@Billstime    - That is it - isn't it?....The Cult see themselves in DT...always someones else's fault.

The Cult look at the world and blame everyone else for their lot in life...immigrants, illegals, socialists, Cuomo, China, BLM, activist judges, Pelosi, Schumer, public schools, the deep state, global warming hoax, blah blah blah...Its all prevented them from something better right...just like DT...they have all been horribly mistreated....but they are fighting the skewed justice they have been subject to and its not their fault!!

The virus isn't transmitted person to person.  There's no concern about going out and enjoying yourself.  You don't need to wear masks.

That Dr. Fauci?

You better check yourself. The Lincoln Project is the last great hope for American conservatives, as we will clearly see if they are successful getting the WH, House and Senate flipped to Dems in November.

True conservatives, those LP operatives. True conservatives.

I said: a lot of people made bad mistakes.

You reply: Trump is a liar.

I think Trump made that statement (lie, stupid comment, whatever) in early February. I can cherrypick quotes, too.

Here is an article laying out “stupid lies” by NYC health officials, Barbot and Levine, and Cuomo.

Here is this Cuomo quote from early MARCH:

“Excuse our arrogance as New Yorkers — I speak for the mayor also on this one — we think we have the best health care system on the planet right here in New York,” Cuomo said. “So, when you’re saying, what happened in other countries versus what happened here, we don’t even think it’s going to be as bad as it was in other countries.”

https://www.nationalreview.com/news/new-york-city-officials-were-slow-to-take-coronavirus-seriously/

Here is DeBlasio (MARCH 13):

"We want people to go about their lives," he said on March 13. "We want people to rest assured that a lot is being done to protect them."

https://www.axios.com/new-york-city-de-blasio-coronavirus-comments-34cf5a9b-9b5d-4987-97d6-e9fd3ba03e24.html

As I said, a lot of people made bad mistakes.

Like usual, you want to focus solely on one person. That’s your hate talking. I only bring up these quotes as an example of things that shouldn’t have been said — like Trump’s quote.  I’m not going to classify them as stupid or lies, just because of the speaker’s party or their personality.

Maybe we need to review who the President is.

The President, whether you think it's fair or not, used to be where the buck stopped.

Now, it's more of "That guy over there screwed up. I'm perfect".

Everything that proves him wrong or an idiot is to be dismissed because let's focus on other things.

Seems different than how you folks interpreted Presidents when it was Obama.

Yup.  He doesn't have a compassion gene and only operates on one speed in one direction.   At times like this, it's a huge detriment that he can't pivot.

He was never able to pivot about anything before he was President. Those that expected him to change didn't know who he was.

If the election has got Dr. Fauci as a centerpiece issue, Trump should pack his bags now. And all those statements you just noted were coming from the administration too, including the last one on masks being such a consistent message that it was huge news that the President wore a mask to a hospital (!) last weekend.

Where do you think the administration gets its talking points from?  Who do you think told all the politicians in January/February/March that it was perfectly safe to go to a dinner & movie?

If you are going to hold up Fauci as the paragon of truth, you should be adult enough to admit to his mistakes.  Never mind the admission that he was worried about a run on masks in February, despite the knowledge that it would accelerate the viral spread.

Who in the world expected him to change, other than mouth breathing morons?

Heavy lays the crown. I imagine many people advised the admin including Fauci.

My 2 cents: I think he made the masks statement because a mask doesn't protect the wearer. I don't know why he said the thing about a run on masks. He sounds pretty bad in retrospect. The point I'm making is that if Fauci is the centerpiece of an incumbent's re-election blame campaign, it's a pretty bad sign.

New FL hospitalizations record today. Big jump.

Especially when said incumbent keeps Dr. Fauci on the task force.

Let's see - you really think Trump didn't override Fauci at every step throughout the process?

Why would Fauci tell you not to wear masks?

  • Could it be because there was ALREADY a shortage of masks?
  • Could it be because Trump didn't want to wear a mask?

No I think this was what he said about masks......in his FIRST SIGNIFICANT APPEARANCE to the nation on March 8.....which by the way this clip from this interview has been scrubbed from the internet and if you search it on YouTube you get a link to Fact Check.org which calls it "out of context" and gives the most asinine reasons why:

Hey, why have ANY elected officials other than President, right?  Why have any Administrative office heads, right?

Or that's the only person you can think of -- ever.  I'm sure you knew how governments worked at some point in your life.  You don't seem to care about local-state-federal at this point.  You don't seem to care about how the government works at an executive level.

Reading the OTW (non facts) thread is amazing. Trump is such a dictator, that he let governors govern their states, as intended per the constitution. The only thing Trump has destroyed in America is logic.

I've tried to add comments to that thread, and the Hapless one has deleted my postings, asks for more info, and maybe, just maybe if it fits her opinion you can post again.

That quote supports what I was saying about Fauci's statement above. It sounds like he's saying that masks don't keep the wearer safe from the disease AND people should allow the HCWs to get the good masks.

In other news, AZ trending lower on hospitalizations still (while FL jumps up).

Why is he demanding all states re-open schools then regardless of what the data says in each state?
