Buffalo_Gal Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 If this is true, it explains why they locked down so many people...
snafu Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 Are they cremating everyone no matter the cause of death? A quick search shows that about half of all deaths result in cremation in normal times. Another quick search shows that about 50,000 people die each year in NYC. That’s an average of 135/day. NY is a little more than half the size of Wuhan. 1
Nanker Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 https://healthvigil.com/flu-season-deaths-us-worlswide/ Flu season deaths in the Unite States More than 200,000 people are hospitalized each year in the United States for the flu illness and its complications and between 3,000 and 49,000 people die each year from the flu. The number of flu deaths every year varies. For example, The average number of flu deaths during the 1990s was 36,000. Average number over a longer time frame from 1976 to 2007 was 23,607 deaths. If you take the number of deaths year wise, you will find a vast variation with a low of 3,349 deaths during the flu season of 1986-87 to a high of 48,614 in 2003-04. 1
Hedge Posted February 10, 2020 Author Posted February 10, 2020 (edited) And these are just the official numbers being reported, which are more than likely quite inaccurate. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The cruise from hell continues: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ But it's no worse than the seasonal flu...of which you can actually make a proactive choice to protect yourself from getting in the first place (unless the strains put into the vaccine turn out to be wrong...which has happened before). It's on top of the seasonal flu, it's not replacing it. And pay no heed to the fact that you are comparing a full year of US flu statistics (which are more than likely fully and accurately reported) to Chinese government statistics which are widely thought to grossly understate the infections and deaths and **these numbers all occurred in basically just 3 weeks**. Seasonal flu's are usually directly responsible for travel bans and for locking down major cities that house millions of people, right? Edited February 10, 2020 by Hedge 3

Seasonal flu's are usually directly responsible for travel bans and for locking down major cities that house millions of people, right? An important follow up that the media never seems to make when reporting flu statistics is to add to the misleading concept that getting immunized against the flu is a binary works/doesn't work scenario. You can make that statement if you are only discussing the ability of the vaccine to prevent infection against the circulating seasonal strains. However having a high circulating anti-influenza "non-matching" serum titer, which you will have if you are immunized, will still very likely offer you protection in the form of less severe symptoms and duration of illness. 1

This virus appears to have a 2.2% death rate. That’s much less than the usual influenzas that appear every year. The flu kills mostly the very young, the very old, and those with compromised immune systems. The h1n1 viral pandemic by contrast infected people of all ages and gave a much higher percentage of pneumonia than ordinary flus do. It’s also more likely than you die from the pneumonia. It’s not clear yet what the age distribution stats are. The B word about this virus is that it’s new therefore no one has immunity, so it has the potential to infect a lot more people worldwide than a “normal” flu. As @BillsFanNC just said above, everyone has some protection from the regular flus even if you don’t get a flu vaccine. It’s called the “herd effect.” There is no herd effect for this virus as it’s new. Next year, maybe. Purell does NOTHING to stop these viruses. Everyone needs to wash their hands regularly for 15 seconds scrubbing vigorously with SOAP and 110 degree water. Then dry them with a single use device (paper towel or air dryer). DON’T touch your face or lips or you can inject yourself with the virus if your hands or fingers have picked it up from surface contact. Don’t travel to China. 1

Nanker Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 Will the mayor of Wuhan come to America and enter the Democrat primaries? He might have a better chance to stay alive if he does.
LSHMEAB Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 This thing has killed what? 200 people over the course of a month. Mortality rate roughly 3 percent, which I don't buy because that's based on confirmed cases and God knows how many people had the virus, but were never diagnosed. There won't be any doubt when a true threat emerges.

The death rate of seasonal flu is very low. Some 20-30 times less than this novel coronavirus. Not to mention it has so many parallels to 1918 Spanish Flu... Just had two trade shows cancelled in India and China... pretty serious *****.
Buffalo_Gal Posted February 11, 2020 Posted February 11, 2020 Why did China lock down so many people if this isn’t serious? 1
