Warning that fully vaccinated may be spreading Delta variant as cases rise across US

Health experts in the United States have raised the alarm that vaccinated individuals might be spreading the Covid-19 Delta variant, as cases surge in states across the country.

The highly transmissible Delta variant now makes up more than half of new infections in the US.

Currently the B.1.1.7, or Alpha, variant is the dominant strain in the country, But researchers said the Delta variant would likely overtake the Alpha variant in three to four weeks.

Christopher Murray, director of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, told Insider that the spread of the Delta variant could actually be worse than current data suggests.

“CDC guidance is not to test the vaccinated [unless they’re symptomatic], so we’re probably missing a bunch of transmission in vaccinated individuals,” Mr Murray said, who is the lead modeller at the IHME, which the White House has leaned on when making pandemic policies.

“We have 14 states where transmission has started to go back up,” he added.

The expert credited the rise in the Delta variant to both unvaccinated Americans and the relaxation of Covid-19 guidance across most of the US. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention lifted its masking guidance in May for vaccinated Americans after more and more people received a jab.

But the spread of the Delta variant has influenced some areas across the US, such as Los Angeles County, to reimpose masking guidance for all residents, vaccinated or not.

How can vaccinated individuals spread the virus?  If this is indeed the case the reason would be the subject that received the vaccine did not develop sufficient antibodies and essentially the vaccine did not work.  Otherwise, this sounds like pseudo-science at best and most likely guesswork.  Viruses and vaccines have been around a long time, like flu vaccines, and I never once heard anyone raise any alarm to the public that vaccinated people were spreading the flu.  Making these kinds of public statements without providing any insights or reasoning behind them just raises the suspicions of the public.

Another thing.  The volume of cases no longer qualifies this to be a national emergency.  And while clusters of cases are being found in localities trend suggests the problem is under control and slowly subsiding.  While it may never disappear the need for extreme measures is over unless some huge outbreak rears up.  That doesn't seem likely.

When viruses mutate the generally become more infectious but less lethal.  This seems true so far based on experience with is Delta variant in the US to date.  Treatments have been deployed or are in the process of being approved that will more effectively treat anyone requiring hospitalization.  And the risk of death will drop at least 50% and perhaps as much as 85%.  So even if we see an upswing in cases the death rate is going to drop dramatically and the severity of illness will also subside.

initially the idea of lock downs and a national emergency was to prevent the health care system from being overrun by cases and hospitalizations.  This goal was met.  Hospitals are almost empty now of severe and critical COVID patients.  And we know quite a bit more now about what risk factors make people susceptible to serious cases.  So precautions can be tailored to met the needs of specific individual risk factors.  Applying some general rule to the entire population is no longer efficient or required.

Have you gotten vaccinated?

Yes.  A few at my surgery center have not, but their employer is demanding they get it by September 21st or be terminated.

Imagine being forced to take a not yet approved vaccine or lose your job.

So lets say your employer requires you to get the vaccine as a requirement for keeping your job.  And then you get it and suffer serious side effects.  By demanding this as a requirement for employment have they assumed legal liability for any adverse outcomes as they've mandated you get the vaccination?  For forcing you to get what some medical experts suggest is an "experimental" vaccine based on messenger RNA technology (mRNA) which is categorized under the topic of Gene Therapy.  A vaccine being distributed under EUA and not an approved BLA. My advice to all employees of all these companies.  Your no match against them on your own.  Form a union and fight power with numbers.   Look at the teachers union as an example.  You don't see school districts pushing them around.  So there's no reason private sector workers have to take any crap either.

This is one of the reasons why way back at the beginning of this I was saying the place to make money is creating some sort of liability insurance for employers. At that point in time it was for employers who “made” their employees work.

Again it's funny that the MSM has no problem calling it the "Indian" variant, but if you call/called it the "Wuhan" or "Chinese" virus, you were racist.

Have you seen the montage where the CNN talking idiots were all calling it the Wuhan or Chinese virus before getting the memo from the DNC that they should stop calling it that? Unbelievable!!

Good luck parents!

CDC puts out new guidance on masks in schools

The agency says it's up to schools to set policies on verifying vaccinations.

Students who are vaccinated don’t have to wear masks in school this fall unless they are riding the school bus or their school decides otherwise, according to new guidance released Friday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The new federal guidelines aren’t mandatory but are expected to influence school officials, local health departments and governors who are in the midst of preparing for students to return to the classroom full time this fall.

The recommendation also could encourage parents who were previously undecided. Kids older than 12 qualify for the Pfizer vaccine, which requires two doses three weeks apart.

"Achieving high levels of COVID-19 vaccination among eligible students as well as teachers, staff, and household members is one of the most critical strategies to help schools safely resume full operations," the CDC stated.

The CDC recommendations specifically call for unvaccinated students and staff to continue mask-wearing and encourages schools to offer voluntary routine testing at least once a week. It also encourages 3-feet of distancing among unvaccinated kids in the classroom but says that recommendation shouldn’t prevent classrooms from reopening.

The CDC also recommends that all bus drivers and their passengers -- vaccinated or not -- wear a mask while traveling to school.

The biggest sticking point for schools though will likely be whether to require proof of vaccination. Most schools already require proof of childhood immunizations with few exceptions.

The CDC, which does not set vaccination requirements for schools or child care centers, makes clear in its recommendations that it will be up to schools and local officials to decide what to do. The agency specifically notes that schools may opt for a universal masking policy, particularly if they have unvaccinated populations and don't want to require verification that a person has been vaccinated (they'll be in masks its just super safe and respectful)*popcorn ready for these late August SB Meetings*

"We do allow for flexibility in our guidance," said Capt. Erin Sauber-Schatz, who helped to write the guidelines as a member of CDC’s COVID response team.

In the end, "this is really about protecting the people who are either not yet eligible for vaccine due to their age, or people who are not yet fully vaccinated," she added.

Reminder...

Under 12 year olds can't get the magic vaccine.  To date, 300 kids under 12 have died from Covid.  There shouldn't be any "mandates" for K-8 at all.

The CDC also just admitted we could have been full open.  What if zero kids are vaccinated or ever get it?  So they all could have been in the buildings in masks?

Welcome to the end of public education.

So once it's approved, you're OK with requiring it?

It pry won't belong before the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine will be FDA approved.  They've proven themselves to be extremely effective against the virus and have a long enough track record to be considered safe (they've approved new pharmaceutical drugs in less time).  This will give employers more legal cover to require their employees get vaccinated.  Same goes for college administrators requiring student vaccination.  That FDA stamp of approval give some people still on the fence more comfort about its safety given the amount of misinformation out there put out by drifters and/or crazy people.  It'll save lives and the overall health of the economy come this fall.

LOL....my guess is the flavor of people not getting vaccinated at this point are the same people who are first in line to thank those in the armed services for their sacrifice. The same people who have a blue lives matter sticker on their car.

Yet..when their one opportunity comes up to do something cost free and statistically risk free to help their country.....the come up lame.

E PLURIBUS UNUM BABY!

It was that montage that sealed the deal for me well over a year ago. That’s when I knew this was all political. Science, my arse!

I never watched CNN to I didn't realize they originally called it the "Wuhan coronavirus."  Their hypocrisy in crying racism over people who called it that after they stopped is just par for the course.

I realized well over a year ago with the HCQ lies that it was all political.  And that they and our so-called healthcare leaders were complicit in the deaths.
