Gugny Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Do you think Eli will get into the Hall of Fame?
NewEra Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 He will. I don’t believe he should. Not first ballot 8 1
TroutDog Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 (edited) I would expect him to. Two SB victories, 2 SB MVP’s and 7th in passing yards (plus most post season yards in a season). Edited January 26, 2020 by TroutDog 4
HOUSE Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 (edited) The same year as Chris Kelsay Edited January 22, 2020 by HOUSE 1 2
Coach Tuesday Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 .500 career winning percentage and (correct me if I'm wrong) never led the NFL in passing during his career. No way. 1 1
Happy Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 Nope. He beat the Patriots in the SB twice, but that was primarily because of their defense. Eli was good, but not great like his brother. 1
Rc2catch Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I think the name and super bowls get him in first ballot. He will be remembered as much better than he ever actually was. He was probably never a top 10 quarterback in the league but those super bowl rings will do the trick 4 1

But because he “won” 2 SBs with the luckiest runs in nfl history (I remember the Bills played the Giants at the Ralph and he fumbled like 7 times and all my giant fan friends wanted he benched and then he won the SB in a few weeks), he’s a lock. But he will go down with Terry Bradshaw as the worst qbs to ever win multiple SBs. Seemed like a nice guy though and made a lot of money. 1
DCOrange Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 I think he's a lock to get in, but I think the Hall of Fame should be more exclusive than it is, and in such a world, he would not be considered a Hall of Famer. 2

Can’t tell the story of the NFL without the Manning Brothers standing in Brady’s way during his prime. I get your point but I disagree.
GunnerBill Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 He will. Whether he should is different. But he will. He was a career average NFL QB but when he got hot he led two famous post season runs and that throw to Tyree where he escaped two sure sacks.... that is a play you can't write the last 15 years of NFL history without. 2

I got slack for it but I don’t think Gore is a HOFer. How many years was Gore a dominant player? The HOFer is supposed to be for the greatest players of all time. Gore and Eli aren’t close to the greatest players of all time. 1

Kind of where I stand. He piled up stats and won two Super Bowls including one vs., arguably, the best team ever. I never thought he was that good but his resume is strong. 1
SlimShady'sSpaceForce Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 (edited) 2 SB wins How many Pro Bowls? eventually if those are people’s criteria Edited January 22, 2020 by SlimShady'sGhost
Beast Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 7th all-time in yards, 7th all-time in TD passes. 2 Super Bowl wins. First ballot Hall of Famer. 2
Gray Beard Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 It’s interesting that it’s called Hall of Fame, not Hall of Great Players. In my opinion, he’s famous, but he’s not great. I don’t think he should get in, but his fame may get him in anyway. 5 1
TheyCallMeAndy Posted January 22, 2020 Posted January 22, 2020 If his last name was Johnson he'd get in eventually, but it's Manning so he's first ballot. 5

Yuck if he’s a first ballot HOF. He was a stat complier. He just played in a lot of games. I know it’s a team stat but should a qb with a .500 record be a first ballot HOF? This would be like Matt Stafford going to the HOF.
