Packers D is very underrated, don't brush them off so quickly.

Interestingly enough, their strength is in the pass game and weaker agaisnt the run, which matches the Chiefs pretty well. But I think the Niners are more well-rounded and will win that game.

Beane proceeds to draft Allen over Jackson

Allen was a better pick for the Bills then Jackson would have been.  And IMO 5 years from now the this will be considered conventional knowledge.  The Bills were not going to hire Roman at OC and were not going to build an offense to fit Jackson's strengths.

No.  But you know what's worse, much worse, obsessing over something that can't be changed.  How long are some Bills fans going to cry into their beers over not drafting Mahomes?  It's been freaking THREE YEARS.  And the Bills weren't the only team to pass on Mahomes.

No, but we were the one's who gave up the pick for them to get him.  The conversation went something like this.

Reid:  Hey, I want to give up future assets to trade up for this raw QB prospect even though we already have an established quarterback and are expected to compete for the Superbowl.

Bills:  Sounds great.

Repeatedly. Thousands of times a year. For three years.

Yeah, wonder why anyone would be annoyed by that.

?

Remember that when fans praise Allen even after he gets flustered and chokes in big games.

The same people that bitched about TJ Graham over Wilson, Troupe over Gronk, Watkins over Mack etc, won't let ANYONE mention a blunder made by THIS organization.

McBeane have done well, but let's cut the oversensitive crap.

And what about the 26 teams that passed on an all pro CB before the Bills had the smarts to take him? Sure, CB isn't as sexy as QB but the point is every year great players are passed on by multiple teams.

Sometimes we get them, sometimes we pass on them too. If you constantly spend your time bitching about the ones we missed that's all you'll ever think about.

And anyway, so much more goes into the success of a player than his talent, like his situation, supporting cast, coach, the way he's handled early on. There are busts out there who would be great if they had landed in other places, and greats who would have been average in a different set of circumstances.

You mean the Jackson that wasn't chosen until pick #32? Who played like crap against the Titans in a home playoff game?

Also, other NFL scouts/GMs whiffing on Jackson doesn't make Beane look better in comparison.

What's worse? Taking that deal or trading up to draft Trubisky?

The obsession and repetitive nature of it is what's most annoying.

But it was a clear need for the Bills.

With a new coach, on the job for a handful of months, a lame duck GM in place, and not knowing what you had as a team, the Bills were in no position to draft a QB early in that draft.  Once Beane was in place and they saw the team they had, they knew what they needed in a QB.  The timing was just not right for Mahomes.

your right.

mahomes, Chiefs and Bills will always be linked in the narrative.

you won’t be able to tell Mahomes story (if it becomes all time great) without mentioning the Buffalo Bills trading pick.

Having a great QB is a bad fit? ?

Even if Mahomes is great, he's still a bad fit for Buffalo.

You really think that Mahomes would be playing like this in Buffalo?

People seem to forget that Allen was drafted one later than Mahomes and the Bills had to replace NINE of the offensive starters on this team during the timeframe.

While Mahomes was grandfathered into Kelce, Hill, Hunt (before his crap) and Reid calling plays.

While Allen was grandfathered into an aging McCoy.

How these people seem to forget these FACTS are mind boggling to me.

This is a terrible cop out.

Either way you slice it, it’s an insult to the organization.

In other words, you don't know if Mahomes would be playing like this for the Bills.

This isn't putting the Bills' coaching staff in a positive light.  If McDermott can't hire an OC who can build around Mahomes or Jackson, then he isn't a good head coach.
