I was fairly heartbroken when the Panthers drafted him one pick before us.

Absolutely devastating, especially when we got Gilmore...wish we had McD and Beane then.. would've traded up

This is the first time maybe some of you are right we could convince him out of it after listening to the tape.  Most of the time the messaging on Megatron, trading for Rodgers, etc. is absurd, but maybe, just maybe, there is a chance.  Especially if he gets the whole off season and even half of training camp to just rest and heal.  I believe if he would ever come back, it would be for our guys.

At the end of the day, Gilmore > Kuechly.

I'm hoping he spoke with McD and Beane and they made it just a tad easier to end his HoF career because he knows he has a HoF coaching position ready

Obsess much?

In his prime I'd take Kuechly but he's lost a step the last couple of years. Gilmore's only gotten better since the Pats signed him.

Im not sure about that. I liked Gilmore and wanted him to extended here, but Kuechly was a monster it seemed as soon as he was drafted. It took Gilmore getting into the patriots system and getting coached by the best to unlock his potential.

Sucks for Carolina.  And best of luck to him. At least he did the right way, retiring at the end of the season instead of just before.

or at the half time of your first game with the team !!!

Wow. Guess he doesn't want to deal with a new regime in Carolina or anymore injury issues.

Concussions plus a rebuild and multiple millions in the bank if makes sense to walk.  His heart is not in it to request a trade to a contender.  I wish him well.

Kuechly is a borderline hall of famer even after only playing 8 seasons. Gilmore is nowhere close that level yet.

Not surprised. Injuries have started to take a toll and he was one of the locker room leaders reportedly very disappointed by Rivera's firing.

Hes just positioning himself to come to the Bills

I was kind of hoping they'd shift Edmunds to an extended Alexander role, joker LB. Then trade for Keuchly. Edmunds is perfect for that role.
