Alaska Darin Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 You know, the NFL deciding to squash it just about makes me want to get one. It would've died out faster if they hadn't done anything.
aussiew Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 I can't believe Stojan didn't get on the ball and register that web site! Steve, you're slipping.
Ron Mexico Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 I can't believe Stojan didn't get on the ball and register that web site!Steve, you're slipping. 305373 Now I need a good jersey maker, damn! Speaking of slipping it to Stojan...... He's not that quick.
erynthered Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 He's not that quick. 305377 So you know already?
Dan Gross Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 You know, the NFL deciding to squash it just about makes me want to get one. It would've died out faster if they hadn't done anything. 305367 It's always about the forbidden fruit to you, isn't it...?
Alaska Darin Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 It's always about the forbidden fruit to you, isn't it...? 305380 Sadly, yes.
Gavin in Va Beach Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 The attention has also thrust an unwilling Ron Mexico (not an alias) into the spotlight. ``I've been getting a ton of calls. People are asking me if I know him. I don't, of course,'' said Mexico, an auto parts supplier in Brighton, Mich. ``How do you pull a name like that out of the air? Use Bob Smith or Jim Johnson; there's 50 million of them. Out of all the names in the whole world, I wanna know how he picked this name out,'' Mexico wondered. Oh man, you can't make this stuff up!
Dan Gross Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 Oh man, you can't make this stuff up! 305384 And, unfortunately for him, he joins the growing list of people who cannot get personalized jerseys from the NFL....
Ron Mexico Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 And, unfortunately for him, he joins the growing list of people who cannot get personalized jerseys from the NFL.... 305388 Yeah, my freind Richard Head has been complaining for years about that, now I know what he feels like.
Kelly the Dog Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 You know, the NFL deciding to squash it just about makes me want to get one. It would've died out faster if they hadn't done anything. 305367 Just curious, but if that was your job, in charge of nfl properties and people started ordering all kinds of these jerseys what would you do? I think it's funny, and I would even buy a Ron Mexico jersey. That name is friggin' hysterical. And I don't think it hurts anyone to have or to buy one. But I don't think the NFL itself can do anything but stop officially selling NFL jerseys with Mexico on the back. It's probably the thing to do, and while there are dozens of reasons to complain about the No Fun League and the crap they pull and decide, I don't think this is one of them.
\GoBillsInDallas/ Posted April 14, 2005 Author Posted April 14, 2005 Yeah, my freind Richard Head has been complaining for years about that, now I know what he feels like. 305391 There's a columnist for the Dallas Morning News named Ben Dover (really).

There are times to take stands and I don't see this as one of them. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall in Art Blanks and Bluto Tagliabue's office when they got the tidbit of "Ron Mexico" news. They sure are protecting the integrity of the game here.
Kevbeau Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 There's a columnist for the Dallas Morning News named Ben Dover (really). 305401 "Ben? Nice to meet you...Victor Hugo."
Alaska Darin Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 There's a columnist for the Dallas Morning News named Ben Dover (really). 305401 The inquisitive side of me wonders if the name was derived from the position his mom was in at the time of conception.
mary owen Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 I love that at the bottom of the story they have the addresses for nfl.com, atlantafalcons.com, and ronmexico.com but seriously, i better be careful.....SDS might yank my avatar away!!!!
airhunter11 Posted April 14, 2005 Posted April 14, 2005 If anyone actually wants one, you can get them at the Falcons store at atlantafalcons.com.......just go to customized jersey and type in Mexico, 7. Have fun!
Greg de'Ville Posted April 15, 2005 Posted April 15, 2005 http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/foot...s.ap/index.html I can just see a whole bunch of Bills fans (mebbe Falcons fans) as well wearing #7 May-hee-ko jerseys to the September 25 game at Ralphie's. I'm laughing just thinking about it.
