Real McClappy Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 (edited) Clowney is over rated. The amount of stupid penalties he takes is concerning as well. Edited January 13, 2020 by Real McNasty
Nester Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 During the game last night I swear they said he was playing hurt and needed surgery in the off season. I would love to have him in our team, but after surgery and for top dollar? I am not so sure.
longtimebillsfan Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 I doubt that he is the kind of "team first" player that Beans and McDermott are looking for. Let him go to the Raiders.
John from Riverside Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 2 playoffs in 3 seasons......playoff contender...that is us

I know he has the most in the league last year Should have been ejected after that hit. Fine their crooked too!
Rc2catch Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Well if he wants to play for a contender so bad he won’t demand a 100 million dollar contract for 3-4 good games a season. He can say all he wants but most contending teams can not afford to pay what he was asking from the Texans.
colin Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 he may be a jerk, and he is injury prone, but his (admittedly dumb sounding statements) came at a heated moment after a loss and just shows where his head is at. he wants to win. one thing about him, yes his lack of huge sacks is a concern, is that of all the top flight guys (i figure there are 4 of them, maybe five hitting FA this season if they don't get tagged) he most fits into and most shows being happy with being 1/11. he's gonna want around 20MM per year of course, but he seems pretty happy to do the dirty work, take on lead blockers, drop, keep a controlled edge, as well as chase the qb and stick with it. his speed and slightly below jumbo size doesn't seem to hit him in the run game. he also plays hard and dirty and injured, which is exactly what we need. i'm still not saying he's our best guy, or even who they want or would be willing to sign with us, but McBean have shown they want size speed aggressive athletes in the front 7, look at who they had in carolina and how they are building up buffalo. give me hooper, cooper, clowney, get another WR in the draft (maybe even trade up) and either sign or draft an RT to compete and draft an RB2 and SAM and all the things that let us down vs houston are gone. no more 3rd and long converts, no more qb's running past the edge, and we have talent on the outside on O to actually match up and we don't go turtle when our RB1 is on the pine. 2 hours ago, starrymessenger said: In place of Murph, not Shaq. JMO. You forgot to mention Ed. We have a couple of 3techs who can bring pressure up the middle. With Clowney bringing it from the edge look out. He would also shore up the run D, something we could well use at times. ya, that's a disgusting front 4 and while i think it would lead to more sacks what it would really do is lead to more turnovers 1

"I just want to win," the defensive end said after the Seattle Seahawks' season came to an end with a 28-23 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday at Lambeau Field. "I'm trying to get to the Super Bowl by any means. That's what I'm looking for: Who's going to get me there? I ain't looking to get on no sorry team for no money. That ain't going to fly. I ain't gonna put my body through all of that just to lose no 16 games, go home with my check. I'd hate that, so that ain't what I'm doing. So if I can't win no Super Bowl, I ain't going to no team that can't win." Clowney, who turns 27 next month, headlines the list of Seahawks scheduled to become unrestricted free agents in March and will be one of the top available pass-rushers on the market. His first order of offseason business will be to determine if he'll have surgery on the core-muscle injury that has plagued him since Week 10. He said he probably will, though Clowney decided to put off surgery after a November visit to Dr. William Meyers, a core-muscle specialist in Philadelphia. ... Love the attitude... Didn't want before bc of high price tag, but if this is what he really believes, I want him.

How rich would that be? The second he signs that contract, Brady announces his retirement 1
Troll Toll Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 So he wants to ride along on a championship team? Why would a team that can win a championship without him want to give him a big contract? This guy sounds like a total loser to me. If Houston and Seattle aren’t good enough for him, nowhere will be good enough. 2

He’s an absolute animal. He RACKS up TFLs regardless of who’s around him, and mostly in systems that aren’t suited to his skill set 5) He has a good relationship with Brian Gaine. Gaine is the one that fought for giving Clowney a mega deal to stay in Houston. O’Brien said no. I don't know how Seattle can afford to let him leave.........their defense was punchless without him. 2

I'm still not sure why they gave up on Frank Clark but it just seems like they'd go to the table to keep Clowney with nothing behind him. I was surprised they dropped him in coverage on that game clinching play yesterday...........that would be top of page TBD material if that were the Bills and they played it like that.

Of course he didn't complain about dropping in coverage. Clowney was always a pipe dream ,especially when Bills didn't make a hard press to get him in Sept. I'm convinced Bills would still be playing if they puled the trigger. But realistically, the Jax DEs are far more likely targets.
Doc Brown Posted January 13, 2020 Posted January 13, 2020 Dolphins blow him away and offer record contract. "I believe in three years if everything goes right we'll compete for a Wild Card spot."
