He starred in a short-lived network sitcom, was a highly regarded jazz trumpeter and spent 17 years as Merv Griffin’s musical director. But, you probably know him best as the unmistakable voice on many Schoolhouse Rock classics like this one: RIP, Mr. Sheldon.
