TigerJ Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 The Belichick coaching tree has grown lots of branches over the years, but few of those branches have really grown roots of their own. The Giants are NFC, so I really don't care what happens to Judge. It's nice to see Belichick continue to lose staff year after year. He's mostly grown his coaching staff from within, but it takes attention that he could be using in other areas. Belichick has not been great at drafting, and that is starting to bite him a bit. He's been able to lure a lot of quality free agents to the Patriots over the years with the promise of post season success. Losing in the wild card round isn't going to help him at all in conjunction with the lingering uncertainty about the end of Brady's career.
eball Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 What I've come down to on this hire is pretty simple -- it makes the Pats*** worse. And that's good enough for me. 1

BillsFan4 Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 (edited) https://www.giants.com/video/ I actually thought his opening press conference was pretty impressive. I liked it better than Rhule’s (not that opening press conferences mean anything). I just felt like he was more authentic, and I can see players buying in to his message. How isn that simple? NE has lost a steady stream of coaches over the past 20 years. Hasn't made a dent in their dominance.
